    When you start the client though it should prompt you for the latest updates. Which there have been quite a few, unless they have changed the download version (finally...lol).

    In my opinion, it is more about your play style. Are you going to PvP? Do you want mass damage output? Support? DD? Tank?

    I LUV being a Cleric and would not change it really. Clerics can be awesome if you build them right. Downfall can be HP but that can be taken care of easily, same with Pdef and our damage output is high. We are also the healing class, so like Barbs (the tanks) much sought after.

    But answer the above questions first.

    There are six classes, and three races

    Winged Elf:
    Both Winged Elf classes begin with Lv1 starter wings, (which consume 2MP a second) other classes get FREE Fly mounts at level 30 (a certain quest at Elder of Archosaur)

    Cleric:
    Can heal, can buff, can revive (also saving some EXP), also has some attack, but survivability depends on skill. Every squad wants a cleric, just in case. Very high MAG attack and MP.
    Archer:
    The most ballanced ranged character... has MAG attack and PHYS attack, ballanced MAG defence and PHYS defence (arcane armour = mag def, light armour = mag + phys def, heavy armour = phys def) 'cause they use Light Armour. Also the most distanced ranged character and can "knockback" enemies (a later skill, there are other knockback skills too) to save attack and HP. Ballanced MP and HP. (best attacks, visual wise, has some buffs)

    Untamed:
    Both races can transform into either a tiger/fox...

    Barbarian: MALE (can be a female behind the keyboard ;) )
    Tankers. They can endure attacks for a long time, have very high HP but their MP is very low, their attacks, as said, are mediocre (they aren't very fancy), uses Heavy Armour mostly (armour depends on how you build your VIT, MAG, DEF, STR) Can turn into a tiger at some point.
    Venomancer:(veno, or heno) FEMALE
    Sexy little mynxes, everyone envies them. They are the only ones who can summon BATTLE pets (other classes get non-attack pets) which can fight their battles while they do NOTHING, and they keep all the EXP! They can be werefoxes (Light or Heavy Armour, where they change to fox form and fight with or instead of a pet) or pet masters (Arcane Armour, stay back and fire some scarabs (scarbabs = veno attack skills) and so on) they are also very very very sexy ;)

    Human:
    >_< no.

    Blademaster: (BM)
    An alternate tank to a Barb (Barbarian) but with lower HP and higher attack rates, skills, etc. They have speed up, and move-about skills too and some good buffs. If you can't get a Veno (veno's pet) or a Barb to tank, you usually get a Blademaster ;) but usually need some little aid from a cleric :) depending on skill. BMs vary from Light to Heavy Armour, depending on personal choice whether you hone your abilities in combat or skills.
    Wizard:
    For some reason, many people hate Wizzes... but i tell you what - when they get to high levels they do PHENOMINAL damage!!! They have low HP and high MP, high MAG attack and MAG def (usually Arcane, or Light Armour for survival, but thats usually in clerics not Wizards) but at first are quite weak and frustrating to level. Their skills are based on Earth, Water and Fire ~ the other two elements in PWI are Metal and Wood (no Air or Wind :( sorry)

    for other info, such as how to upgrade or get new skills, just as in game, and look for a active FRIENDLY faction if u cant get to Sanctuary

    Santcuary = PVE (Player Versus Environment) and at level 30 can go into PK mode (10 hour minimum period to do public PVP, so you CAN PVP, or go to the Arena at a certain level ;) )

    If u want tips on builds, again, just ask (build = where to put your 5 attribute points every level, MAG VIT STR or DEX?!)

    BMs are more interesting, there are a lot of Barbs lol, plus u only choose Lion Tiger Wolf or Panda with barbs, BMs are human so u get full customisation ;) very fun ~ a little ballanced too

    PvE servers have PvP once u are level 30+

    Barbarian (untamed) Melee (tried to level 8)
    Blademaster (human) Melee (tried to level 12)
    Archer (winged elf) Ranged (tried to level 42)

    Mag:
    Venomancer (untamed) Ranged or Melee (tried to level 6 lol)
    Wizard (human) Ranged (tried to level 17)
    Cleric (winged elf) Ranged (tried to level 45, my main)

    Im a fan of ranged, 'cause im lazy lol... I like to aid and deal damage, get it over and done with quickly. :)

    Level Faster:

    Bm bc of there grinding and aoe abilities.
    Solo grinder


    Full PvP servers --> Once level 30 = fair game
    (I think this is WAY more interesting)

    PvE servers --> Can turn the PvP option on or keep it off

    fair warning though about venomancers, half this forum is freakin stupid, and thinks theyre over powered. dont believe the hype, ive played one for... well a decent amount of time to judge. most of them never have played one and just get jealous we can solo a particular instance dungeon lol. most our skills suck, and all the other classes out dmg us, if we didnt have tamed fighters along side us, wed be useless

    barbs... i believe r even stronger than venos...
    i mean... what other class can tank their supposedly "bugged" nixes...
    barbs dun do **** damage... our damage increases quite a lot as we lvl...
    even in tiger form i still do decent damage ( maxed true form )
    u just have to do this:
    vs veno.... never go for pet try to get veno
    vs bm.... use flesh ream then sunder then devour... then go humanoid... beastial onslaught, skill spam... when sunder's effect wears off... go back tiger and repeat whole process...
    vs cleric... use same for BM... it works for me.
    vs archer tiger form get close... use frighten... surf impact... flesh ream then go humanoid and skill spam
    vs another barb.... just make sure that u have better equips

    i've tried all the classes, to me, my three favourite are

    1. Veno: i just love having a BIG golem following me around(main)

    2. Barb: take out like 5 guys and not get below 75% health

    3. BM: large amount of skills for variety, most look very nice

    It's really all in how you want to kill things. Want to hit them? Your choices are Barb, BM, or Fox Form Veno. Want to cast at them? Your choices are Cleric, Wizard, or Caster Form Veno. Want to fill them with more holes than Swiss Cheese? Go Archer. Each class has its pros and cons. My main is a Venomancer, but I enjoy the freedom a Barb and BM present me. I love going up and whacking on things... Ironically, that's part of the reason my Veno is built the way it is, so I CAN go up and whack on things... There's just something very satisfying to me about beating things down.

    And honestly, don't believe the hype. Test out each class. Each server has 8 holes for characters, so you can test all six out with ease. And remember. Have fun. After a crappy game like RS... You deserve to enjoy an MMO. That's why I'm here... I'm also an RS victim. And I'm never going back.

    dun 4 get staying alive, and 4 sum reason the repair bill seems manageable for meb:pleased
    and grinding is not slow if u take on 5 mobs at a time...
    tree of protection+ perdition+ slam always get the job done b:cool

    LOLL Runescape is a pathetic game compared to this...in that game i got to level 70 in a week, in this ive been playing for 7 weeks and im only 54! but PW is still a much better game overall! =]

    Seeing that you like meelee classes:

    Barb - Huge HP and Phys.def. I see no reason why they should choose any other armor than Heavy one. Damage they deal isn't that big, but they can survive well. Till lvl20 I could leave my barb on auto attack, go after coffee, come back and see how it ends the fight. Before lvl20 there are so many quests and weak mobs that you won't care too much about "slow" kililng. After lvl20 mobs will start to get harder and slow killing might make some problems. Then just squad up with wizard - they are complete oposite to barb, so together they make perfect match. You keep mob on yourself and wizard takes it down in few hits. Later you will get some aoe attacks, so killing will get faster. If you want to kill faster - play in Human form. Tiger form is more for tanking as it reduces damage, but increases phys.def and HP.
    In PvP - hard to kill. Often needs more than two ppl to take a barb down.

    BM - nicely balanced. Hits harder than barb, but has less hp. I think lvling it is bit harder than barb as you need to choose which kind of weapon do you want to use (swords, axes, polearms or fists) as there are skills which work only with those weapons. If Barb can make a good team with wizards, then clerics are your friends as BM. They buff you, heal you and attack between that.

    Veno - What fits to everything, is good to nothing. Has meelee and caster form, but both forms are worse than true meelee or caster classes. To compensate for that - they get pets. Don't look at it as an option if you want to choose pure meelee class

    I played Runescape for a very long time, (my rs account is called ffilteg_69 if you want to check it on the highscores) anyone who played rs seriously would know that it took a long time to achieve what I did their. Yet since I installed PWI I cancelled my subscription and haven't been back imho Perfect world is a much better game.

    However thier is one big differance between runescape and Perfect World which I don't believe anyone has mentioned yet.

    Part of Runescape was the huge variety of skills you could train the vast majority taking months to master and get to lvl 99. It's all good saying I got to lvl 70 in a week because thats only relevent to combat lvl and the rest of the skills would of sucked meaning you missed out on a large part of what RS could offer. Perfect world doesn't have this facility their are 4 manufacturing skills but thier crazy expensive and not things you will spend weeks on more like skills you might train if you had a spare hundred k and 30 mins. Here the game revolves alot more around doing the quests completing dungeons and generally fighting monsters in some form or another. No doubt PWI has better graphics but graphics don't make the game if you get bored of doing the same thing it may lack the variety you were used to in RS.
