What makes a guild good?

I wanna know (other than land and such...) what makes ppl wanna be in a specific guild? Like for example... in SAINTS, we are all like family (and a lot of us are in RL) We go by 1st names and are all very close... so tell me what you like about your guild... and dont be shy b:chuckle

Not really in one, but imo:
A strong, assertive leader who can listen and address the needs to his/her guild.
Members that are willing to cooperate for things outside of their personal gratification.
Teamwork and listening skills of course.
Patience.
Can handle guild drama in some form.
And from personal experience, a leader (or anyone else for that matter) that doesn't get too 'attached' to a guild member. I've had someone threaten to quit his guild over this. Which he did and later came to this version to start the same thing on another server.0 -

It's very satisfying to know that the guild leader random pk's lowbies near silver pool to feel like a big man. Doesn't that sound like you? Well then, you're on the right track to the SAINTS glory.0 -

I think including everybody, not only just the core members, and helping each other for reasons other than personal benefit would make a strong guild.
Too bad I can't find one of those guilds at my level range b:surrender0 -

Here's my response to your opening post. The leader needs to present a vision to his officers, such as, what is the guild's purpose? What is it's overall aim? What is it's philosophy? The officers should believe and support the leader by becoming exemplars and teaching the regular members the guild's values. Of course having fun and jokes are a must cuz nobody wants to hang around who's super, super, serious all the time right?
Once a loyal base has been established, the guild should strive to support one another up to the best of it's ability. I'm sure a common goal for all PWI members regardless of why is to level up and get the end game gear.
Then again, the leader could not care about any of the above and have just a random rampant collection of people that just happen to be grouped together for whatever reason.0 -

So would we all agree the having fun is the basis of the game? so in turn, a guild that has fun and is comprised of good friends would be an ideal for some of us then, right?
Here is the reason im asking... i used to want to be in CQ more than anything (before i was a PKer CQ, so no "we dont allow random PKers in CQ" comments). But now that SAINTS is what it is... im happier here than i could be in any other guild. Who cares if we own land... sure it would be nice and cool and all... but in the end its just not possible with the way SAINTS is... does everyone think im odd?? or does it make since?0 -

I agree with you on this one! I am in what many call a "fail guild." And yes I am Leader (although that was NOT the plan). But right now it works for me, it is a temporary stopping point. The only thing that makes a guild together is its members...
In other words, you need to like actually "not pwn" ppl in your guild. Because like when they RageQuit out of your guild. Your guild just became me, myself, and I.
And although you have 3 ppl (Me, myself, and I)... it is not possible to RageQuit (a lot of) noobs with only this army of 3.Position: Professional Forum Troll

Decent leader, fun members.
While i wish i had a guild i could zhen all day with and get some quests done, no guild is completely perfect.0 -
I want to be in a faction with members who are aggressive by nature. the type of people who would kill someone just to show they are superior, and while doing so make it known that they have no chance.
a group whose only goal is complete annihilation of all opposing forces (everyone)
a leader who doesnt take ANY ****. example:
player a: can i get some buffs please?
leader: sorry im busy
player a: how busy can you be...?
leader kills player a
player b: you killed a random guy.. thats not very nice
leader kills player b and banishes them from faction
no weaklings/carebears/babies example:
leader: im gonna go kill some people, anyone wanna come?
player a: nah, i dont want to go red.. i might lose my items
leader banishes player a from faction
player b: umm.. he didnt do anything?
leader banishes player b from faction
player c: he was my friend!
player d: he made a fool of himself, it was deserved.
leader banishes player c from faction
a fearless leader. the kind of leader to be roaming around with dark red name at level 30!
people who use the given opportunities to the fullest. example:
player a: i never use apothecary items while pking, they are just cheap and unfair.
except to run away faster of course
leader banishes player a from faction
player b: i use every apothecary item i can get my hands on! whether i buy it or make it myself! i worked for those coins and herbs and im going to use them to destroy people, no matter the cost! they were made to be used!
leader: well done.
people who are strong bodied, minded, and willed.
heres an example of what i mean as far as strong bodied:
player a: "player b", go somewhere else i want to train here.
player b: i was here first
player a: when did i ask you how long youve been here?
player a kills player b
heres an example of what i mean by strong minded and willed
player b calls an inferior class (blademaster) to kill player a (mage)
player a DOES NOT SAY
