Refining Cheat Sheet

So what does refining do for any particular piece of equipment? Here's a general reference:

Armor (Various): +Hp

Helmet:
*Arcane: +Hp
*Helmet: +Hp

Cloaks: +Hp

Weapons: +Attack ( mAtk or pAtk depending on type )

Necklace:
*Elemental: +Mag Res
*Ethereal: +Evasion
*Protection: +Phys Res

Waist:
*Elemental: +Mag Res
*Ethereal: +Evasion
*Protection: +Phys Res

**Note that PWI Database gives conflicting reports on Waist refines. It lists Elemental as +Evasion which makes no sense.

Rings:
*Might: +Phys Res
*Magic: +Mag Res

An example of the progression of refines:

Pants of Dragon Scales

    Welcome _Ptah. There is some sort of modifier that is different for TT and Legendary equips ( at least armor ). TT tends to have a higher refine bonus but Legendary makes up for this by tending to have higher inherent bonuses.

    I'm still trying to figure out a rumor on officers in different owned territories giving a higher refine chance.

    Note that the boutique sells Tisha stones ( keeps your refines from dropping to 0 ) and Tienkang stones ( increases chance of refine ).

    one question does hp refine bonuses increase with lvl of equipment being refined?
    for example does a lvl 10 shin refined +3 have the same extra hp bonus on a lvl 11 refined +3 shin?

    the higher level the item the better the refined. a level 1 cloak isnt going to have the same bonuses as a level 11 cloak.
    Example (numbers are hypothetical):
    Level 1 cloak +1
    +8 evasion
    +10 hp
    Level 11 cloak +1
    +200 evasion
    +80 hp
    IDK if its that drastic of a change (evasion is base stat of the cloak btw) but thats how it works.

    The higher level armor has higher refines. Also the type of armor affects as well I believe but I haven't had a chance to check Arcane -vs- Light -vs- Heavy. PWI database has..er..issues.

    Say I had a sword with a magic power of 573 - 624. If I refine it and get a +1 does that mean it now has a MP of 574 - 625.
    Hardly seems worth it if that's the case.

    It adds damage... not MP <.<....

    Oh yea, get it to +12... It will give like +350 Magic Attack or something. Tell me if that doesn't own.

    Thanks for reply. I don't understand the corelation between +12 and +350. Is there a site that explains things in more detail.
    I've been playing PW for a while now but have not had any reason until now to refine or add sockets to weapons or equipment.
    Before starting I'd like to get a better handle on the process.

    Well...consider this. A Beautiful Sapphire shard ( ~240k coin to buy/make ) gives you +20 mAtk. Refining your sword ( I'll assume magic sword @ 70th level ) Gives:

    Grief's Breath
    Magic Sword
    Close Range
    Grade 9
    Attack Range 3
    Physical attack 322-482
    Magical attack 584-713

    Refine
    Attack:
    1: +16
    2: +32
    3: +48
    4: +68
    5: +91
    6: +120
    7: +159
    8: +208
    9: +272
    10: +356
    11: +464
    12: +600

    The point to this is that for roughly the same amount of coin ( minus mirage stones ) you can get a weapon up to +3 easily if you use orbs.

    Not that I know of. You can make some guesstimates by looking at PW database though.

    if i refine armor with -channeling does that help increase the - channeling time?
