If there is a rollback you'll probably lose the gold and get your coins back.

no offense, but it sounds to me that only YOU would quit/cease to buy zen. Some of us can't afford a rollback because not EVERYONE took advantage of what has been going on. Hell, I never knew of half the bs going on because I never looked at the forums because I was too busy grinding my tail off. If we had a week rollback, I would have no characters at all. Hell, a lot of people who did nothing wrong would be screwed.

Just ban the idiots who abuse to terms and call it a day. Rollbacks because of morons seems to ruin the game to let the glitchers/abusers run free. They'd just find a way to do it again. I sound like a ***** but no one cares if you got screwed out like the rest of us and I know damn well no one cares what I just said. But hey, opinion is opinion.

    Correction for your terms:

Rollback = some quit the game

No Rollback = some STILL quit because they cry about other people.

No one will be happy either way. But you lose far more people if we rollback every month because of a glitch people were too stupid to leave alone. :/

OMG THEY ARE ROLLIGN BACK A WEEK NOOOOOOOOOOO ILL BE LVL 40 AGAIN I DOTN WANNA GO BACK TO THAT HELL HOLE b:cryb:cry I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WHERE SOMETHIGN WRONG WITH THE COING count thingy omg XD i was in tusk killing foxwing for coins i dotn wanna loose my hard work

lol... never said what i heard was right. that was just the most common story going around, and generally, the most widely accepted common knowledge is closest to the truth.

tbh... i really dont care all that much anymore as long as the bug is fixed, the economy issue has been rectified and we can get back to playing in four hours

The trouble Baraiai is the massive surge of coin in the system. I'm sure they won't have the time or resources to track every single coin that "shouldn't" be in the system. You also have to think of the fairness to players like myself that chose not to participate in the obviously questionable trading. I could have made at least 40 million just from game cards I have sitting on my desk, just from selling it on the AH. I chose not to, to avoid possible ramifications. Now you have many players with a clearly unfair advantage over others. There is also an impact on the economy as a whole. If there is more coin in the system, the prices will rise because more people will be able to afford them. Sure we can all take advantage of the higher prices and try to make some sales, but they will likely lose a lot of the truly free players that can't afford to buy gold form the AH anymore. Less demand for gold from the free player market means less gold being purchased with real life funds. You can really only spend so much gold on your character before it becomes unnecessary to buy more, and many players buy an excess just for the purpose of selling it to the free players. Sure there are charms and GA's and scroll and the like, but I really think that the gold market would decline greatly if the free players were unable to continue playing for free.

Before we got kicked from the servers for the emergency maintenance, people were starting to panic sell their gold with the prices going back down to as low as 120k per gold, with the average selling price around 300k or so.

I'm no economist but I think the impact has not been that great on prices as a whole as most people are still sensible enough to carry on as usual.

I hope there is a way to track only those who have exploited the bug and penalise them accordingly.

No offense to PW, but if they roll back, I'm probably not going to be playing anymore. I have only just started this game, and even rolling back one day, I will lose 3 characters (out of 4), and the one I don't lose will be losing half her levels. I don't care what the other idiots have done- don't punish me!

There has not yet been any word on whether or not a rollback will even take place. It is probably safe to assume that if a rollback does take place it would be to the last save point prior to the servers going down for maintenance. The problems didn't occur until the patch so there would be no need to go back any further.

You also have to think of the fairness to players like myself that chose not to participate in the obviously questionable trading.

Don't underestimate them. As I stated in another thread...a similar situation happened on another site I had been on...thousands of people took advantage of the glitches...receiving items that they should have never received.

Even myself had received approx. five items on that other site, before I figured out something was wrong, and immediately wrote down the items I had received, went to the forums, contacting a GM I knew. The items I did get to keep, but the extra coin had been taken from me. I had no complaints of course seeing as it hadn't been mine in the first place.

But...that site had been able to weed out those who purposely took advantage of that glitch...and properly punished with banishment, and other forms of punishments. Because I had contacted someone...the only thing I had got was coin taken from me...coin that had never belonged to me in the first place...so I couldn't complain.

As to this problem on PWI...many people fear a rollback...not because of this coinage in the system...it is because many of us have worked extremely hard to get our lvls to where they are...with either grinding or questing to get our experience.

Many of us never were even involved in this bit of 'scam' as I would call it. I logged out long before the maintenance...and never returned until last night (Friday night). I never check forums before going in...so when I seen the small news flash after starting the game...I had been slightly confused...seeing as it has said an Emergency Maintenance for 2/23/09.

I thought to myself they must be trying to inform us there's going to be one on the 23rd. So I tried logging in...but it didn't work. So I came to the forums...and this is when I found out.

So why should 'EVERYONE' suffer for those who were being idiots and trying to scam off of this glitch? We shouldn't...and no matter if it takes a week, a month...even a year to figure out each and every one who were involved...then so be it...it needs to be done...and those involved needs to be punished.

Even the youngest person playing this game knows how to use common sense. And common sense tells you that this was wrong to do this...so you don't do it...else suffer the consequences of whatever the punishment may be.

On that other site I had been on...to keep those banned from coming back on illegally...their IP addresses were banned, their account deleted, etc...that was 'ALOT' of accounts too...but it had to be done...in fairness to others. I may have been a part of it on that other site at first without realizing it...but luckily I figured out something had been wrong quick enough and contacted someone....offering to return the items I had received.

    Now that's common sense.

You worked extremely hard for one full day amidst world chat spam concerning the issue? Without bothering to investigate what all the commotion was about? Even if so, it's just one day. No character will really suffer in the long run over one single day, regardless of level.

I agree...no matter how long it takes them...those involved in taking advantage of this should be punished....NOT everyone. Many game developers/owners have their own way/systems set up to track such people down efficiently. So as Shad said...don't underestimate them...I sure wouldn't.

I second that. The GM's might even be really nice and declare an extra exp event.

It would probably be easy to catch those who exploited the glitch.

However, they implicated many others due to the influx of their coins in gold trading which in turn messed up the economy to a certain extent.

That I believe is the tricky part.

Perhaps it wouldn't make much of a difference if it were one day...but do you realize...especially for the lower lvls...how much experience they can gain in just a few hours? ALOT!

I'm just saying that not all should be punished technically...after all...why should we? We did nothing wrong. It had been PWI's patch that had caused the glitch...not us...also for some of us...we did NOT take advantage of this glitch. And even some of us had never even logged on after the patch. I logged out long before and headed to bed...

And I am also just saying not to underestimate them. Because just as you start believing they won't have the time or resources to do something...they turn around and surprise you by doing just that.

Basically, they will do nothing. Remember what they did with the halloween bug :

1 - they did not do a rollback

2 - then never did anything against those who abused the bug

Same thing will happen this time too.

    They'll fix the bug, period.
