Hi, I'm a veno main, and I'll help with the troubleshooting:
1.1 Hercules
1.1.a. Why it won't attack your target.
Okay, when you 'right click' one of its skills, a yellow border around it would show up, correct? That means that it's a skill(among many) that you want the pet to ACTIVELY USE and it'll continue to use THAT skill as long as the border is up at the onset of battle or when its CD is over. Now, the reason why your Hercules is spamming defensive skills is because generally they have a short CD. As a result, when you sic it on a target, it'll only spam those defensive buffs.
For example:
This is exactly the same as your Herc. If I 'activated' these skills, my Herc won't stop buffing itself.
What you have to do is:

Only activate/'right click' an offensive skill. If you want to 'deactivate' a pet skill, just press 'right click' again.
1.1.b. Why you can't feed it.
You are trying to feed it 'sesame oil', correct? The right food for Herc/Phoenix is 'Perfect Cookie' which you can craft from the 'PW Boutique Agent.'


Pro tip:
There's a way for your pet to buff itself once it's summoned, so you don't have to manually do it every time you summon it.
Step 1: Open Game Settings, click Feature.

Step 2: Click 'Auto Pet Buff', then 'Confirm'


And in case you didn't know, the reason why my Herc has seven skill slots is because it's 'evolved' (4 learnable skills + 2 mood skills + 1 special skill).
