Prior to this mod I had an issue sometimes where it was impossible to activate BOVA until I either changed maps, went to the character selection screen or died. At least that seems to have been sorted this mod. Targeting another player by accident is a real pain though since BOVA is a huge source of procs and using it on…
As long as you tatget an enemy or nothing, you should be able to cast bova on youself no problem. I found bova can also helpful for targeting the healer for the bore worm healing phase of lomm if they are constantly getting attacked, although I admit that is of limited use.
It is only 5k per box and you get a companion upgrade token, so is not a total waste. I agree the drop rate is low though. I heard it was around 1.6% per box, which means you can buy hundreds, if unlucky, before getting the rod.
Yeah, I heard dented metal rod is around 1.6% drop rate. I'm not sure this is true, but if it is, and it isn't increased per fail, there is around a 20% chance you won't get a drop after 100 Alyssa boxes, and around a 4% chance you won't get after 200!. That seems prettty tough on 1 in 25 players imo.
Or actually say how much game time you have to do the event maybe? I have done this event a few times and it is usual to farm in a group for the last few hours of the event. Perhaps I should have checked the calendar.
True, I was just agreeing that having a maintenence (especially an early one), is not a great way to end an event that is primarily based on farming. I see no logic to this at all.
@"reapermanaus#2689" I think the scavenger pack extra writs are just in case you miss more than a day or so of the event. Once you have the Griffon and the free charger, is the other horse you can buy with the writs even worth getting?
I would like this event to include a 10 man raid event where we are responsible for holding a section of the line against waves of enemies for a certain amount of time until reinforcements arrive. You could give each player a certain number of points which could be used before the battle to build defensive structures. No…
I play on PC so am unsure whether it is harder or if the game is just more difficult to control on console, but have you been running LOMM with an alliance group or have you been pugging it? Pugging LOMM is very hit and miss as you only need an inexperienced healer or one underpowered dps to make Arcturia very difficult to…
@sandukutupu I think they kinda assumed people would realise. Like the +100% speed bonus for artisans, people thought this meant artisans would complete tasks immediately instead of just being able to complete tasks twice as fast.
-25% incoming healing applies to your default 100% incoming healing so you would have 75% of the normal heals if you were to wear the leggings. Just like artisans that have positive or negative bonuses to either speed or commission cost, the bonus affects the actual default speed or commission. Edit: BTW, as a dps with an…
How about making the event seem more like an actual siege? Starting outside the gates of the city to be confronted by massed ranks of the enemy would be nice. This could even be a separate map and be called a sally forth event or something similar. I, for one, would love the chance to charge in there on my trusty mount and…
So basically you are admitting the lockboxes have an internal mechanism that allows developers to alter the drop rates whenever they please. I realise the information says there is "a chance" of getting a legendary drop, but people I think naturally assume this chance is consistent. If there was no intent on Cryptic's part…
Regarding undercutting people on the AH, why not just apply a timestamp to anything that is taken down from the AH to stop it being immediately re-posted? This would obviously have an effect on stacking items, but I think that would be a fairly minor problem. One problem people sometimes experience when posting to the AH…
I think getting rid of the VIP ranks would actually cut your revenue. When I first bought VIP I paid for several months worth in advance with cash because I wanted those additional benefits. If I had the option of just buying one month of VIP with all the benefits, I would have just bought one month and saved my AD and…
Being able to change loadouts away from a campfire would be crazy. All people would have to do is temporarily come out of combat and swap loadouts from aoe to single target and vice versa. I mean, you could even swap all your gear if you wanted which is hardly realistic.
Well if Cryptic have logs for the mounts given it will be pretty easy to distinguish between those that may have exploited this and those that definitely did.
Another maintenance so thought I would look at this forum thread again. I wouldn't be surprised if Cryptic had a log of all mount rewards stashed away somewhere and has a team going through it at this very minute looking for unusual activity. If that is the case, then I think many people that did get the mount pack might…
Well yeah, but at least this way only the people playing the game will know about it. A rollback would have meant a much longer delay in all likelihood and probably lead to some really bad publicity. Also, if the chance wasn't 100% for all players how could they possibly know that one player wouldn't have got that…
I see your point but the issue of a "few" players getting a legendary mount is hardly headline news, however "International MMO giant's much vaunted release ends in shambles after 5 minutes" just might be. edited due to crappy typing.
A rollback, whether it is for 5 minutes or a week would take the same amount of time and let's be honest, having to perform a system-wide rollback 5 minutes after a mod launch would be hugely damaging to Cryptic's reputation.
Looks like they have decided on taking the hit for this one. It would be virtually impossible to discover whether any one lockbox gave the mount due to the bug or if the rng would have given them it anyway.
