  • Thank you for taking the time to communicate the intent behind this change! That being said, I'll share my opinion that this wasn't needed. Wizard gameplay is about as straightforward as you can get, even in the case of Thaumaturge, since there is an effective class feature that guarantees that Rimefire will be functional,…
  • I understand well and am up to speed with end game things. It's our definition of what's good or useful that's different. It's not necessary that we agree, but putting aside the detailed explanations for a moment, I'll say this: Hellbringer does "okay" at AoE. Not great, but not bad. Soulweaver with a focus on damage and…
  • You simply can't do good damage. You can do more damage than a very bad DPS or some tanks, perhaps, but it's not good. Hence my comment. You mention Harrowstorm as a keystone ability, and the damage there is terrible. You'd have to be running with a group that took forever to kill things in order for that damage to add up…
  • This isn't universally true. There are plenty of scenarios in gearing up where Darks can make the difference between meeting stat caps with the desired loadout and falling just short. Some players may not be concerned about missing 1k of a stat, but it's not an exaggeration to say that 1k Defense, for example, can make the…
  • Concerns about modification of play style are totally valid, but from a healing perspective I think it's a little early to say that our Soulweavers will be destroyed. If anything, it's possible that they will come out ahead. Even if investments like Outgoing Healing pets remain drastically reduced in effectiveness vs.…
  • It seems to me that M19 is a good opportunity to make players feel good about gaining access to the highest ilvl equipment again. With the Ebony chest pieces getting the nerfbat, can we make at least a few of the newer options good enough that we aren't just digging for ilvl 1000 Seer chest pieces that are randomly awarded…

  • I wasn't aware that anyone actually used healing potions...I figured they were just to sell to vendors for professions gold. I'm only half kidding. Health stones have been part of so many giveaways and promotions by this point, and potions aren't needed for daily content, so...yeah.
  • Have to agree that feats that improve damage on Soulweaver and other healing paths are pointless. In other games I might celebrate improved healer DPS options, but in the current state of NW they do not make sense. I don't have the patience to refer to the forum rules and see whether or not I'm permitted to name another…
  • Arbiters already outdamage everyone on live. That's not new. Yes, it's unbalanced, but it's not a sudden change on Preview or specific to this trial. More of a class discussion.
  • Highly doubt that will be necessary. Incoming Heal can be ignored in ToMM currently if you build sufficient HP, wear a Barkshield, and know the mechanics enough not to take unnecessary damage. It's very possible that this trial will prove similar. We should wait and see whether or not the incoming heal debuff on the boots…
  • Even putting this aside, long cooldowns are intensely boring. I was on board with the M16 overhaul to make encounters and dailies less spammy and to encourage more strategic use, but CDs of 20+ seconds are inherently un-fun. Adding insult to injury is that healers are now waiting for their resources to regenerate, and they…
  • Can we not have it so that shields overwrite each other only in the event of a higher-value shield replacing an existing one? This would address one of the fundamental incompatibilities of shielding effects in this game, one that, among other consequences, basically guarantees that Soulweavers and Oathkeepers are never…
  • I get where this is coming from, but I have to admit that asterdahl isn't totally wrong. On live, healing is brain-dead easy for those of us with the basic gear and the companions. Healing output is incredibly high with little concern for resource management to balance it out, and players have to mess up pretty badly to…
  • Dreadtheft is a pointless ability and has been since M16, when it lost the debuff effect. Please remove it or add some benefit to channeling it that makes it worth performing no other action for the duration.
  • Hellbringer does fine as DPS up to and including ToMM. It's competent at everything, but not close to the best at anything that matters (e.g. it's still a very solo-friendly character that maintains high damage output because of CA uptime with class feature, but solo content is easy by design, so this isn't terribly…
  • Even in old-school D&D clerics were not exclusively healers. They had specializations for offense at least as far back as 2E.... It's your perspective on D&D clerics that is like this, not the actual game.
  • At this risk of going off into the woods, I don't think that they want Arbiter to be a healer-anything. Bastion's base cost was previously increased on Arbiter so that it couldn't have DPS abilities along with one of the best healing tools in the game at a bargain cost. I'd rather that they excised Bastion from Arbiter…
  • On the topic of loot, Companion Gear would be an excellent draw....
  • The trial is visually interesting and has a nice, crisp pace. Really enjoying the design so far. Some of the healing/mitigation checks might be a tad overtuned if the trial is intended to be accessible to parties without ideally stacked legendary mount abilities etc., much more so than with ToMM currently. Need to do more…
  • As respectfully as possible, this is nonsense. Arbiter is a DPS path, plain and simple. Players were already using Divine Oracle as a DPS option prior to M16, and Arbiter was created to give those players a dedicated path intended to be competitive with other DPS. It's silly to suggest that Cleric should be only a healer…
  • Yeah, I've said my piece on this. I could have guessed as much, but judging from the responses, some players aren't interested in the process; they want to be angry and want to bait others into being angry with them. I think that the dev and communication teams bear some responsibility for the less-than-stellar state of…
  • There are enough real, established complaints to discuss without people going off about changes that they are just trying for the first time. We can at least give it the weekend of playtesting and compare our observations to the eventual patch notes before we go nuts. It's not as if we need to forever hold our peace if we…
  • Troll or not, the topic is legit. A lot of players have expressed a desire to see more life-leeching on Soulweaver. I like to give benefit of the doubt.
  • Been holding my tongue up until now because Shield ought to work consistently and not be buggy if we’re going to have it at all, but... ...it’s a terrible encounter and doesn’t deserve a spot on your bars. It’s flat out detrimental to dealing decent damage, and Wizard AoE is bad as it is. The last thing it needs is a weak,…
  • > @"giz#2086" said: > (Quote) > No matter how good you can be..the class is wrong and ALL community see Warlock as a weak DPS class. No matter rotation, build, gear, etc. Other classes are better than you, and they will pick them and not a Warlock, it's a fact. The "you're running it wrong" is a topic here:…

  • giz, come on. Useless is a horrible exaggeration; it's not even close. Yes, there frankly are stronger options for end-game DPS, but there will always be something stronger unless you happen to be playing the current Flavor of the Month. By that logic, every DPS who isn't an Arbiter should retire from ToMM. I get that…

  • Interesting, but...why? Harrowstorm heals the same regardless of whether or not enemies are present. Having it potentially damage the caster would be a nerf. The "cast from HP" vibe on the Soulweaver is very underdeveloped and in most cases pretty silly since it can heal itself with its own toolkit. Usually this kind of…
  • To your original point (though others in this thread have addressed it very well), even if Arbiter and Hellbringer were on equal footing in terms of DPS (they're not; Arbiter has the advantage right now), you were missing key equipment that the Arbiter might have had. For example, the weapon enchantment you had at the…
