I think that was a foundry bug. Happened to Kasul on another quest, too -- I could get the chest and he could not. I believe Gilli Goldenbeard is the one who still remembers when Duskshore was Duskshire.
Ah, okay. I imagine most people choose the "No" option to the question, then, about whether or not they know her and find themselves unable to continue the quest. The quest is kinda based on you knowing her really well, though. The option "Yeah, I know her, and she's a B___H" also sends you running after her to see why she…
Constant discussions with the characters, for me, halted the flow of the adventure. I understood what you were trying for -- an adventure that felt like being in a story. It didn't mesh for Kasul and I, but that's just us. I know from the other reviews that many people liked that best. I could open the final chest, but…
In the pool outside the boss room, Water Plane - Murky 60ft 01. The red one I used in Trazdon's room -- Water Plane - Red 100ft -- but that was only for effect, couldn't swim in it. You should check out @DoctorBadger's "Nim'sha's Storm" for a much better underwater effect.
Thanks! I'd learned so much by playing the quests of you master builders that I wanted Najena to be a sort of thank you note to the people who continue to astonish me. By basically stealing all the amazing ideas from better quests :)
Any restrictions you add will just be new hurdles for sploit foundry authors, and they will hurdle them. There is no easy solution. People should be able to make any foundry they want. I just want to be able to HIDE all the sploit farms. I never want to see them. They can be made all they want as long as nobody who doesn't…
Mostly Kasul and I try to browse through the NEW tab, because we're hoping to find fresh quests that few people have played. But since the NEW and FOR REVIEW tabs are so drowned with endless, endless farm quests, it's tough. If there's an interesting quest in these forums, I choose it sometimes. Mostly I am looking for…
I think the flow is interrupted when I have to keep looking for stuff. The plot just comes to a halt, and now the adventure is making sure we look in every corner for a sparkling thing that has no relation to the story. There was a presumably fun story, now all that's stopped so we can play a hidden object map. I'm sure…
Umm, my author character has a horse. A fast one, too. And a purple pet. I had one of the founders packs, and I just claimed the rewards from the vendor in Neverwinter. The foundry is why I play Neverwinter. No other MMO provides the same level of tools with which to tell a story. Sure, there's PLENTY of features (timers)…
I share information on an ongoing basis with friends on G+, and they give me their feedback. They aren't actually working directly on the quest, but I don't feel I'm working in a vacuum. The ongoing revamp of my first foundry quest is being immeasurably helped along by comments on my daily updates. (Latest update, for…
Part of the goal here is to work through the challenges of a single-map design. My struggle with every quest is to keep the running time low. As every quest zooms toward an hour, I fail. I want to see if I can make a good story, interesting encounters, unique maps, memorable characters and some puzzles last between 15 and…
I know how you feel. I was rewriting one of my earlier quests. Haven't been able to work on it all night. Of course, there would be a G+ post about it... https://plus.google.com/+BrendaHolloway/posts/ZjTTTG1sxhf
I've wondered much how to make our quests more discoverable. Just looking through the tabs is almost useless, since 95% are farm or achievement quests. It would be nice to be able to point people to the best quests somehow.
A walkthrough is one thing; a review would just show highlights. That being said, very few quests are at all visually distinctive. Battles are hard to follow, without any staging. Interaction with NPCs is done entirely via text, which is difficult to show in a review, since you don't really want people to have to read it.…
I doubt Kasul would go for it :P Plus, we spend the entire night trying to crack each other up. I guarantee this would be distressing for the quest authors. See, we go by the theory that every single foundry quest is "canon" -- which is why all the quest givers have distinct personalities as far as we're concerned. Noble…
Funny story (not really), this is my second quest involving Emperor Crush. The first was done using EverQuest 2's Dungeon Builder, where I had Crushbone being invaded by the Plane of Water. Crush was the final boss, and typically died in one shot because EQ2's dungeon builder sucks and you can't actually make boss battles.…
v1.2 Patch Notes for Crushbone's Revenge: Lanys hard adds actually made hard Extended the Janitor a little. By request, flirt option for Pham first meeting. Changed Josylyn fight to be a little harder Don't require the player to accept Bealu to make use of the Priest of Discord's power. Clerics apparently have a problem…
Banner fixed, thanks! Both guildmasters now explicitly ask you to talk to the other one before leaving the room. I looked into moving the garden closer, perhaps in with the corrupted wolves, but things would look even more crowded. I did as you suggested with the throne room lights, thanks! I replaced the walls with the…
EverQuest is based on Toril MUD, which was based on Forgotten Realms lore, so Neverwinter and EverQuest are distantly related. Thanks for the review :)
