Well, they can chalk up another double 'success' in the form of me considering…

What we *can* confirm is that the backlog now diminishes at half the rate that it did previously. There are several possible causes for this,…

Cause ya know, your tirade has more than just a whiff of sour grapes…
  • None of the predictable attempts at deflecting & derailing the premise of this thread's OP actually address the crux of the matter despite repeated clearly worded posts explaining it. Reading comprehension & intellectual honesty are virtues. Suggestion to those still high on their toy horses thinking this is about whining…
  • > @krumple01 said: > (Quote) > Here is the thing. Cryptic really doesn't want us to be capping or maxing out for content. They hate it that players are so obsessed over what is the caps for each zone and which gear is better to use for each zone because of down scaling. So asking them to work on a system that is more…
  • Ffs. The lame anti-bot filter here swallowed my detailed response after make one, one-letter edit despite this not being my first post. Imagine if Cryptic exercised the same diligence in-game, eh? Anyway, I refuse to type it all out again.

  • At this point, Cryptic might as well scrap the entire class system, design a new one from the ground up, and give every existing *character* a free class re-roll. Alternatively, reinstate the combat system from pre-Mod 16. They destroyed something that worked (and worked well), and replaced it with a broken mess.
  • > @"demarw2#2749" said: > Come on guys. The devs give us an inch and we want to take a mile. > > Noworries said that these are just small changes and won't fix all balancing problems. They just will bring a little more balance and equity. Thanks for your work @"noworries#8859". No. They made this mess all on their own.…
  • Call it negative all you want, but it is abundantly clear after the better part of a year, several mods later after the initial lobotomy of classes, boons, & feat trees, that Cryptic does not know what it is doing. Exhibit A: Cryptic devs publicly stated they didn't want any meta class setups because it resulted in certain…
  • NW used to have far more of all the positive things you mentioned. Then Mod 16 arrived, and it destroyed all buff/debuff, destroyed varied builds, slowed down combat (and turned it into hold-down-at-will button), over-simplified feat & boon trees, introduced the single worst implementation of level-scaling I've ever heard…
  • I agree with your summation of the state of this game, autumnwitch. I saw the writing on the wall back in February during the NDA leaks leading up to Mod 16. I left before it officially launched. I have less frustration simply perusing this forum vs. when I played the game. That having been said, I have not forgotten the…
  • If you liked the previous fast-paced combat, mostly unbroken classes, more involved and potentially rewarding feats & skill trees, having plentiful buffs & debuffs, both more reliable and greater in number of ways to earn in-game currency/AD, and a larger development team focused on Neverwinter, then the answer is no.
  • > @thefiresidecat said: > ermmm.. talking about the verbiage in tales of old. it says will it be a tale of wonder or will your story end in defeat. it should be will it be a tale of wonder or a tale of woe. I wasn't making any grand statements about the state of the game. although I wouldn't say you are entirely wrong,…
  • In spite of any protestations to the contrary, it should be quite clear to any who bother to carry out an intellectually honest assessment, that Neverwinter does not have the same dev support it once had. Indeed, it appears it hasn't for quite some time. Some may attempt to brush any such observations aside. Perhaps the…
  • > @"admiralwarlord#3792" said: > (Quote) > You accurately describe the desire of the Developers, they just don't want to. Mod 16 brought the class balance they wanted: 3 Tank classes (GF, OP and GWF), 3 Healer classes (OP, DC and SW) and 3 DPS classes (CW, TR and HR). I think they lacked the courage to specify this for…
  • > @"mebengalsfan#9264" said: > (Quote) > This was the only MMO I have played that allowed players 100% crit chance. Most games allowed up to 50% if that and that change was needed. As it stands right now, they lowered all enemies health and the damage they did also got adjusted. IMO content is to easy and should be…
  • Yeah, the effectively near total nuking of buffing/debuffing with Mod 16 is why I quit playing my DC (secondary) just as I had become reasonably proficient with it, and had started to enjoy the class. The orbital strike nerfing of my GWF and permanently limiting his crit. chance to at best half of what he had, saw me quit…
  • Maybe so in regards to f2p, but that model appears to be broken and/or exploited in many (most?) instances where it is employed. I've only read of one game that apparently got it right; I forget it's name, but its f2p approach is to sell primarily cosmetic items and in such a manner, that it makes you want to pay because…
  • Why do you think a significant percentage of us quit playing this dumpster fire of a mismanaged game? I just come here to read about whichever new lows the incompetence & hubris of whomever is attempting (poorly) to call the shots lead to. It is far less frustrating than actually playing NW, and frequently more…
  • > @namelesshero347 said: > Well, people leave games for one reason or another. Don't think you can put all the blame on changes that happened. While I miss the buffing days of pre-mod16, I am fine with the changes. It certainly is a different game. While the game lost some players, it probably gained some new players.…
  • The one and only thing Cryptic truly excels at: the relentless continued pursuit of un-fun via nerfs with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Just pull the plug on the game already.
  • Smart money says it's incompetence (as has become increasingly apparent since Mod 16).
