  • Fair enough. At the moment it seems like I just need to be a bit more particular about which zone I'm in just before the event starts. The 110% zerg is also probably due to TR's being able to solo them in a few seconds by themselves with certain stacking abilities.
  • And? I guess that makes it cheaper per character but it's still steep just to participate. I'm sure it will die down in a few weeks and then I'll get a shot at getting some drops.
  • I'm fully aware of the options on how to get one of the mounts I'm just irritated that a cash shop item is the deciding factor in your rewards in module 5. I knew people would reply with it being totally fine that a $25 cash shop item locks out F2P players from Module 5 content. After all, if we slow-mount folks can't…
  • Added a thread to preview feedback regarding this issue. http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/forumdisplay.php?1211-NeverwinterPreview-Feedback-General-Discussion
  • Yeah take it from me if you have a default horse you're screwed with Module 5. Just went to four different zones with 5 dragons up each and got in exactly one hit. The people with 110% mounts downed each dragon in each zone in under five seconds each. So from now on I guess I might as well go for Red first since at least…
  • I would have if I'd have known it was the price of admission to Module 5 content. Only $25 to join in the fun!
  • Ah, my mistake then! So uhh...still not going to post any parse comparisons though huh? I guess since you've settled into insulting me there isn't anywhere else to go in our little discussion unless you decide to show yours. After all, you've seen mine right? I feel teased good sir! ^_- @Chem - Thanks for the laugh!
  • Ok then. I assume when someone fails to address the core argument and instead chooses to concentrate on personal attacks that they must agree with the core premise and are merely trying to deflect the conversation towards a different subject. Otherwise, a person such as yourself would certainly shut me down with a simple…
  • Look mate I played the MoF build since it came out until the advent of Module 4. (And I've played every different flavor of MoF on live since Module 4, as well.) It's not like I'm just waltzing onto the CW forums and claiming MoF is worse out of thin air. It's because, in both dungeon runs and parsing, it under performs…
  • About equal with a control rotation versus a damage rotation. Or call it whatever you want the Spellstorm parse was using Entangling Force in Tab. So about equal still? I could make it do quite a lot more if I didn't care about control. I can't really say the same about MoF. Sure thing dude, it's like the pot calling the…
  • Reading Comprehension 101: "Reasons why MoF is Worse At Everything". I.E. MoF is still better than any other class for damage except perhaps for a few SW or GWF spec's. Not 'Suck at Everything', 'Worse at Everything'. Big difference dude. It isn't my fault you read 'worse' as 'suck'. Laughably the MoF is also worse at…
  • Both were run with 2200 critical rating with a vorpal at 15k GS. If it's a set I use the stat ratings are going to be pretty close to one another. You want to prove me wrong? Man up and post your own ACT parses. I did. (Oh, and Assailant can proc off the lame Warerat poison. ^_- ) So the part where I pointed out a…
  • Not a bad option for a certain playstyle in certain dungeons. It'll certainly tide you over until you can get the DC artifact and respec into Spellstorm.
  • Just three immobile, immortal wooden poles ^_-
  • Ah, fair enough. The total damage in the same period of time is indeed very close but this test already skews itself in the MoF's favor by assuming the thing has infinite HP.
  • That's exactly what I'm doing is respeccing and switching sets. I don't know what numbers you're throwing out because the Spellstorm was about 1000 average damage ahead of MoF while using Entanging Force in tab.
  • FtF in Tab, CoI, Steal Time, Icy Terrain. Got it. (And yes, actually, this is what I usually use for as much up-front damage as I can.) Champion Mage Set / Vorpal 1699 avg. HV Set / Vorpal 1884 avg. Anywho that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Concentrating things in a tiny death ball is better than throwing them all…
  • I'm game. Both are my 'ideal' builds that I commonly use. As you can see, they are quite close on 3 targets until you start looking at the source and application. For instance, while Smolder will do more damage the more targets you are fighting so does Sudden Storm. Nothing comes close to the burst off Sudden Storm, and…
  • The thing is there is absolutely nothing stopping a Spellstorm from using the exact same stat distribution while still doing more X, Y, and Z. I will however concede one thing and that is that a critical Icy Terrain is basically the source of all damage and survival for a MoF. It's almost silly how everything the Master of…
  • What good is CoI if things are dying so quickly is the counter argument. Freeze? No. Damage? No. You just negated your own argument. EF works regardless of how quickly they die whereas CoI does not. Icy Terrain will refresh any smolder by itself. The only thing I can determine is that content is so simple that there is…
  • Ever since they turned Stormspell into a DoT proc build with CC attached to it's best Encounter power it's pretty much made every MoF in the game completely redundant. They do the exact same thing now, only Spellstorm does it twice as well in literally every respect. Just my opinion, of course.
  • I'm going to say, right up front, that using EF on Tab means that you are going to do less damage and freeze things slower. Absolutely, those are both true. Firstly, EF as a team utility tool. EF is the single most powerful tool to drive Arcane Mastery there is. Bar none. Period. In a target rich environment, with the…
  • When using Combustive Action and Swath of Destruction all your dailies will add Smolder regardless of critical strikes (I.E. Oppressive Force). This is an uncapped target ability. Then, Icy Terrain will constantly refresh the duration of Terror, Smolder w/ Swath (through Rimefire), and to a lesser extent HV with follow up…
  • If anything, MoF is able to take the most advantage of the HV set with the interaction between CA/SD driving an almost endless supply of Oppressive Force and the most debuff the class can possibly do. If you really think about it Critical Conflaguration isn't even necessary if all you really care about is driving team…
  • This game is basically single-player at this point. Your dailies take up so much time on multiple characters that by the time you're done with them for the evening it's time to go to bed. Perhaps it will be better once you're caught up and have them all unlocked but if you're new to the game I imagine it's quite daunting.…
  • The point of disagreement we have here is that you don't absolutely need to fully charge SB. You can rapid-tap this at-will which doesn't require you to stand still any more than any other at-will. Even the rapid tap is AoE, even though it's a rather small one when doing so. If anything, SB requires you to hold still less…
  • Right now I'm built almost entirely around damage dealing with the following build: http://nwcalc.com/cw?b=cn4:13ydj4:13ydj4,13n30i3:100000:1z00uv:150u00&h=0&p=mof I've done a whole lot of testing with a MoF and as near as I can tell this is optimal for virtually every situation with my personal play style. People might…
  • Control Wizards are more cookie cutter than ever. Keeping in mind that you need to use both CoI and Icy Terrain to proc Storm Spell reliably that leaves you with two Encounter slots that are almost certainly going to be Steal Time and Sudden Storm. As for feats it's so cookie cutter that it's absurd with the requirement…
  • So just a quick FYI I'm fairly certain that Focused Wizardry actually works on all smolder ticks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems hard to pass up to me.
