Without Elven, smoke bomb and stunlocks can be a problem. I wouldn't say I need it so much as it's very effective at eliminating stuns as an issue, which is a concrete advantage. Pathfinder's Action is bugged and doesn't work with Elven Battle, otherwise I would probably run it. You make a good point--attacking from stealth without revealing yourself is really good and better than Ambush in that regard, so it makes sense to run it.
