I'm not sure how true it is, but someone on the STO forums posted that the DDoS Prick attracted the attention of Anonymous, and they gave him a warning on Twitter on Jan 30.

I figured I'd share this over here as you guys need a morale boost while we wait out the Prick.

3-4 days at least on this latest rash of attacks. This isn't the first time he did it either.

No company is immune to DDoS. Even Blizzard has the occasional problem. Just ride it out with the rest of us man. He'll lose interest again.

Just wait it out. Trendy, STO's CM, is keeping us posted on status on the STO forums.

If he's renting a botnet to do it, going after him directly doesn't solve the problem because the zombies are still attacking. All he does is say when. If we're already getting hit, it doesn't solve a thing.

You're assuming he's American. I think some people who tracked him down on Twitter discovered he was Croatian or something from that region of the world, hence the timing of his attacks.

Can't arrest someone who isn't in the US though. The Prick's on the other side of the world.

Not even the Pentagon can stop a DDoS because of the nature of the attack.

Actually, we have a centralized thread, so they close the secondaries as the staff already know about the issue. No need to spam the forums with complaint threads when we have one primary with updates.

He's not wanting to make the game better. Rumor has it he got pissed off that they closed an Exploit in a patch and decided to DDoS in protest over not being able to exploit the system for game monies. If it happens again, I can link you guys the thread on the STO forums where Trendy keeps us updated on what's going on.

I guess that means all three of Cryptic's games are in the same server farm. And we've been known to do the angry mob routine from time to time.

We have too, but our mod has been closing threads about this situation and directing people to one centralized one where our CM is updating us on the situation... and Trendy's in need of a break because of this shtako.

The community over on the Star Trek Online forums stand with you guys here in Neverwinter. Mostly because STO is in the same server farm and getting blasted as well so we're in the same boat and therefor have sharpened the pitchforks and are getting the torches.

I'm guessing Power Points are like STO's Specialization Points so... nothing new to me. I have only filled up Intelligence Officer Specialization, half of Pilot, working on Commando, and have not touched Command Officer.

That sounds like our 50-60 grind in STO. The story missions in the Delta Quadrant are generally 1 per level, but they don't give nearly enough to level up so you gotta go grind your butt off just to continue in the story. Out of my... 8 characters (3 of which I play more of) only 3 are lv 60. The rest, except for my KDF…

I think I got a pretty good idea considering I'm not as active as I am on STO. Neverwinter is F2P, so long breaks aren't a problem like they would be in a sub game. Also... I'm a casual player. And WildStar... I think I looked that one up before. Sci Fi style game right? Might check it out. Add it to my collection of F2P…

That's one thing I never understood. Why use Astral Diamonds for the Auction House instead of Gold, Silver, and Copper? I mean... ADs are actually worth some amount of real money! You can trade it for Zen! Granted I never have been able to for some dumb reason. Could SELL Zen if I had any that wasn't bound to STO, but…
