Like many others, for a few days now when I exit the game, the launcher starts automatically and starts patching for 2.2G. It doesn't get far though, it only does about 1% and then it crashes (evidenced by the system tray icon being left and only removed when mousing over it).
There are many minor problems with the volume of the different kinds of audio. I don't like the soundtrack personally so I've turned it off completely, ramping up the ambient sounds. Playing like this, without the music masking the problems, you notice that for example, the wind is sometimes way too loud, the combat sounds…
Heh, funny thread. Every big publisher wants their own walled garden. Steam does it, Apple does it, hey - everyone does it today (Google, MS, Ubi...). Why wouldn't PWE? It makes sense, all these games under one account, one launcher, one ring to rule them all, ec. ;)
I used to be a supporter of Open PvP, full loot, no instances etc. but not anymore. I now have a very limited time to enjoy games and there's no way I'm going to spend it queuing or grouping with unknown players. So it's just quests and foundry for me & my spouse, which is perfect. The foundry is something really special…
