Any game with a UGC system is usually the best kind of game.

  • I am really surprised my campaign was played. Very well analysed and a fair review for a first foundry. All appreciated.
  • Never played EverQuest but I can see the resemblance. Detailed analysis time! -Very nice map detail, really brings out the essence of fantasy. -The "regular" combat was fairly difficult, though slider adjustments did help. -Story was very impressive. Good use of merging both worlds of Faerun and whatever EverQuests one was…
  • If you want repetitive dialogs, you will need to type it in the "Contact" area of the NPC behaviours. The quest dialog will only appear once while that current objective is active. Once spoken to, an objective should appear on the right of the screen as per usually does. If this does not happen, this may because you…
  • 1. This is the problem with detailed reviews. There is never enough space to put them in. 2. Exactly. As a reviewer, you have to look both from the perspectives of the author and the potential player. They have done just that making their analysis' reliable to both audiences.
  • Mistake the "Submit to Cryptic" button as the publish button. The story of my first ever published quest.
  • It depends on urgency. I had to submit a bug report due to my computer suffering from a GUI misplacement glitch about a month ago (The one where text is slightly off the GUI button and the stamina bar is less than it's usual size) which I've heard is common. It was fixed within a few days. Depending on priority, they will…
  • I will have another run through of it. As far as I remember, the cavern was on the other side of the map to the the specified objective area. Perhaps it would be more convenient to the player to use one of the potions in the lab room? Now thinking about it, I'm not too sure that water would be the best thing to use for an…
  • I'll be happy to review it for you. I'm assuming it's the linked quest under your post. I will get straight on it. RE-POST: It is impossible to complete. Within the area where you have to find water to give to the dying Redcap, it is nowhere to be found. I have looked everywhere on the map, killed every encounter, spoken…
  • Everyone seems to be putting the blame on Cryptic or the Dev's. I don't think it is. Cryptic makes the game, maintains it, improves and expands it, but that's mainly as far as it goes. There is one major factor that is part of it and one thing everyone forgets...Perfect World Entertainment. I found this video which…
  • As far as I've seen, this is only with single point patrolling. Looped patrols I don't think have any effect.
  • I have already reviewed this. Main noted elements: -The idea of an arena was good, however the dialog choice for spawning yeti's was looped onto itself for the choice of adding more enemies. -There was a good background story involving the God of war. -Some good difficulty adjustment for solo and multiplayer. -Apart from…
  • I have played Arkentree,Return to the Clock Maker's Tomb and Missing Children, and I can definitely agree with this analysis. With the Arkentree map. The detail is outstanding as well as the use of the mechanics in the premonition. However, when I played this, I kept dying a lot and the pointer path kept leading me the…
  • I have only been involved in the Foundry community for about a month or two, however, I didn't know there was an organized collection of other "real" reviewers (The one's who know what they're doing). Since I became involved in the Foundry, I've always been interested in finding new content to review (or preview). Aside…
  • Another detailed review coming up. I may do the same as White Dragon Winter as give pointers on certain elements of the game. I always like to see unrated or newly rated content. RE-POST: Post review/preview: The main noted elements. The overall story had an excellent idea though the second part was far more interesting,…
  • It depends on the setting and the type of atmosphere you are trying to create. Certain light features are used for certain purposes. Unfortunately, I don't know what sort of thing you are trying to do so I can't help you any further.
  • Another Christmas quest. I look forward to reviewing this. RE-POST: I have now reviewed this and since it is a fairly new release, others will soon follow. Being a Christmas themed quest. I have no doubt others will soon play this. The main review is on the game, however I'd like to point out some interesting elements of…
  • Good to finally see reviewers who actually know what they're talking about. It's this kind of thing that actually helps authors and developers know their foundry's positive and negative area's.
  • The gold may be cheap, but it' still something you could have used to spend on something you could actually use, though would be a good idea if you could create UGC items you could use with stats or whatever. Even a temporary mount just for that Foundry. Remember players of all levels will play UGC Foundry's. If they are…
  • It's a bit late for that. I had noticed the missing section. However, inability of completion shouldn't effect the end result. Just because it's incompletable, doesn't make it any of a worse Foundry quest. I still would have rated it highly regardless. Those who know my reviewing strategy know that I give my rating's based…
  • UGC Foundry currency you mean? I have been working on UGC currency for one of my campaign stories, however it is rather tedious as it involved exchanging UGC items regularly. If UGC currency were made such as gold or whatever the author decides, this would be much easier for Roleplay style Foundry's.
  • Aren't quests waiting for reviews meant to be in the 'Foundry Quest Database' Forum? Just saying. :P However, I will have a look at this and review it.
  • Most of what I would suggest has already been suggested however, there may be a few things which others have overlooked. EITHER: •Timed events •A cut scene/movie animation system similar to the beginning cut scene on the shipwreck and Plague Tower •Multimap Transitioning instead of just one for free roaming •Actual moving…
  • If that be true, then I'm not sure why I can't publish a finished new mission for my campaign which I created and started after the RoT update. With the new patch today (when this was posted for later readers), I hope it should fix the problem completely as do most other authors.
  • Remember, Neverwinter is part of 'Perfect World' who are known to prioritize P2P/W-ers. I believe this is what is happening here. The one's who pay get their Foundry quest published first regardless of the quest itself. However, this is not a direct accusation on Perfect World as there could be other reasons for this, i.e.…
  • The Foundry isn't dead, it's just full of bad missions most of the time. However I have seen some ecceptions to this, but this is very rare.
  • There is no convenient way to do this. If you wanted an infinite battle there are a few methods but they wont'd be that good or convenient for you nor the quest. First there are 2 attack animations; Kick and Headbutt, in the Emotes section but that would look rather ridiculous as they would only do that single animation…
  • What must also be taken into consideration is that Cryptic may still be trying to republish all previous missions from before the RoT update. They may have disabled publishing temporarily, or if not. similar to the other theory that too many projects are being published causing the process to halt completely. They may have…
  • I would have thought the the update from hours ago (from when this was posted) would have re-enabled the Foundry system. Evidently not, however the devs have said very little about what is happening with it. It's understandable that they're trying to reload all previously published mission, dungeons etc back onto the…
  • Under the map on the top right, there's a "leave area" button, Symbol of an exit door.
  • This would be an interesting idea, however several factors would need to be taken into account. •Firstly, what was mentioned above being that certain maps could be broken.Even with parameters set, there's always still a chance for bugs and glitches post publish. •Secondly, if the authors play their own maps in PvP, they…
