  • if you just double-click or right-click equip a dagger (or ring) it'll just replace the "main" one... to replace the OFF HAND dagger (or Ring) you have to actually drag a new dagger/ring into that slot. The comparison tooltips also do not reflect the off hand dagger/ring, by the way. You have to manually compare a new…
  • Bear in mind, some people write Foundry quests as "Killer DMs" and just throw everything and the kitchen sink at you ~trying~ to kill you. I don't mind a challenge but I've been in several Foundry missions where it was the intent (which failed, thankyouverymuch) to kill the player.
  • The cloak I was talking about was, I think, a quest reward so if you just do the story missions you'll eventually get it. I want to say it was Cloak of the Maelstrom but I may be mis-remembering (I'm at work :P)
  • Just as an FYI, the later thief helmets are actually masks that cover the lower part of the face.... unless the clipping is VERY bad, I would think that would hide the half-orc tusks quite nicely. :)
  • Not sure what you mean by T-Sets... there are set bonuses for some armor sets, if you get two and then four of the pieces. For example, for the rogue the PvP set is Battlefield Scavenger and has I think +20% stealth meter with four pieces of that set. Somewhere I've seen images showing the stats of all the Tier 1 and Tier…
  • I imagine thieves always get the sparklies since they can Disarm them... other classes probably don't see sparklies (although maybe if they had a thievery kit they would?) I've run across a couple instances where --- even as a rogue --- I did not see a trap until I'd sprung it. In those cases, the trap was 'hidden' at,…

  • I was looking to kit myself out on the Auction House since I do not do dungeons, and the cheapest gear was, it turns out, PvP gear... while I'd prefer some of the stats on the OTHER sets, it's hard to argue price. Then I found out that the PvP set's set Bonus for four pieces was +20% (or 25%?) Stealth meter... which means…
  • Not only do you have to wait for those rare recipes to magically appear in your workers' heads, but you have to already have the rare ingredients on hand, too.
  • I tried using Shield in the tabbed slot --- love the reddish shield instead of the cyan default one --- but the shield's protection versus the AoE effect of Chill Strike was not a tough call. I suppose it might be possible to use the Tabbed-shield until I start taking too much damage and then pulse it to knockback everyone…
  • Somewhere along the way I picked up a cloak that gives me invisibility for, like, 30 seconds or something with an hour recharge. I haven't actually tried USING it to see if it'd let me sneak past foes without aggro (the raw stealth of a rogue won't --- assuming you could get in and out of aggro range while it lasted). I…
  • I tried to level up Leathercrafting AS I leveled up experience-wise, but even so I hit 60 long before I could make anything (aside from shirts and pants) that was actually useful. At skill 15 (out of 20) I think the highest level gear I can make is 40th or so... and I suspect that even if I am able to make level 60 gear it…
  • Of course I don't know how much a few ability points here and there will REALLY matter. If I were under, say, 10th level I might re-roll...
  • I wouldn't bother - MANY people are in the same boat. They'll do something, or they won't, but one specific case is not worth submitting a report.
  • Seems like I read somewhere that you can get them with Ardent coins, but they drop in your main inventory and you have to double-click them to send them to the currency tab.
  • Battle Scavenger is the only PvP set I found listed (I got mine off the Auction House since I do not PvP at all). The Trade of Blades is the Glory / PvP vendor area, so that's the only armor you'll find for sale there. I imagine the other armors are only dropped from dungeon bosses (or bought in the auction house if they…
  • What's funny is that Cryptic's OTHER game (Champions Online) already HAS the ability to compare one new item to TWO existing items... back when they allowed you to have two minor defensive items, for example (now you just get one).
  • I don't know if it would be possible, or worth the effort, but it occurred to me that it MIGHT be possible to make a foundry mission using the existing world maps and place waypoint/paths to lead people to where the scrying orbs were in the "real" world. In the Foundry mission they would not exist, clearly, but you could…
  • I solo'd the Cloak Tower at level 17/18 but I went through like fifty health potions and a resurrection scroll (against the final boss) and still had to do a LOT of running around. And that was with the advantage of Hero of the North starter gear, which was WAY better than anything I should have had at that level,…
  • Caveat Emptor. I confess I made a boneheaded move - I paid like tens of thousands of AD to pull a rank 5 mod out of a weapon so I could put it in my new, shiny, better weapon... and then it occurred to me to check the auction house and sure enough there are a boatload of rank 5 mods for sale, starting around 1,000 AD or…
  • The danger, of course, is that someone will win the auction with a very very very low bid. Granted, a REALLY valuable item might rack up high offers, but still I always worry that my uber-leet item of doom will sell for a pittance if I set the entry bar too low.
  • I've found MANY of the campfires do not work at all. I've bug-reported every one, every time (which thankfully is not often). I can stand ON the fire of the campfire and be totally motionless for nine or ten minutes and still have a Minor Injury. I zone to Protector's Enclave, though, and I get the Mending icon and sure…
  • That's what I used to do, too, but then I got a dagger that was Main Hand Only... so I could not swap my off-hand dagger into the main hand slot to compare to a new dagger. I tried removing my Main Hand Only dagger and placing the off-hand dagger in the main-hand slot... but if you do that, the game sees that you have an…
  • Yah, there's an option you can set ( a checkbox, as I recall? ) that lets you CHOOSE the instance into which you are sent... it's normally OFF by default and the game just puts you where it wants. I happen to prefer being able to choose my instance, as that means I can deliberately choose a less-crowded one. I don't…
  • I don't know how to take movies and such, but here's how I finally did it --- facing the busted-open interior of the house, you want to be on the LEFT side of it, which you actually reach by going around "behind" the house, along the road that passes behind it. Clearly this whole thing is easier if the foes are cleared or…
  • krelar, if it's the one I think it is, you can get around to the side of the rock farther along the path (opposite side of the rock from the bridge) and you can jump up onto the rock pile there, then sort of hop/sidle around the rock to get to the top, eventually jumping onto the top with the bridge to your back. Fell to…
  • Shoot, I was hoping to find the answer to this question here... I, too, have explored every inch of the Icespire Peaks (I think) and don't have this achievement. I did every mission along the way (that I could find) except the final dungeon, and I even poked my head in that briefly (barely survived the first group of foes…
  • If you do any crafting, you'll also need gold to buy some materials.
  • Well, an enchanted key costs 125 zen. The zen market allows the price of zen to range from 50 to 500 Astral Diamonds. So the price of a 125 zen key can be anywhere from 6,250 astral diamonds up to 62,500 astral diamonds. Last I checked, the rate was actually somewhere in the 300 - 400 AD range per zen. So, less than 62,500…
  • In the Chasm, this is the only one I cannot seem to find. The whole area outside the "first camp" appears to be in the range of NEGATIVE 13359 or so... but even so, when I get near -13359 -1810 I cannot see nor hear this one. Quite vexing. Assuming the 'first camp' means Scar Keep, of course, and the first number IS…
  • I had a top I liked (except it had a 'skirt' that I did not like) with exposed midriff and very slimming, but then I got better gear from the AH and all of a sudden I'm wearing a bulky overcoat looking thing. I would like to get the armor shown worn by the menzoberranzan drow in the earlier advertisements... failing that,…
