Yeah, it looks like some folks got a full respec, some got a full forced respec, some got a forced respec on feats, and so forth. What matters is that everyone gets a full respec. If you have not gotten one, please contact our support team at support.arcgames.com for assistance.
In order to get the ability to switch to melee mode, you'll need to get to level 10 first. After that, you'll be able to switch between ranged and melee mode whenever you want :)
