  • The biggest reasons (on PC): (a) some did not understand CA and (b) some did not understand that a group has to work together. I assume it is the same on xbox. See here: https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1259796/a-simplified-10-point-survival-guide-for-the-combat-changes
  • There are some players who probably have more experience in software development than anyone at Cryptic - or for that matter, were teaching computer game development while some of them were still in diapers. Respect has to be earned.
  • Regarding point 2, I have met quite a few "kids have it too easy today" players...they had to struggle to beat Tiamat back in the day, so they are pissed that people were able to totally igniore the mechanisms, As for point 3 - that's a point I an many others have been making - by taking away gear progression, they are…
  • The only thing I said was "easy" was comparing augments, simply because they are pretty much identical, except for which additional 3 stats they give an extra bonus to, which you can look up in Rainer's pocket wiki. Determining whether to use an augment in the first place is harder, but if you want one, then the "best" one…
  • It is very easy to compare augments, and to determine whether one augment is better than another, as that is only a matter of simple stats. It is much harder to compare active summoned companions. As for comparing augments vs. actives, well, my advice had been for healers to use Augments, as their extra stats help them…
  • The problem is that fror a long time there has not been a viable alternative. Many people came to NWO because it was a solo-friendly, grogression-focused, PvE-oriented, not-too-hard-but-not-trivially-easy, with a fairly non-toxic community. The D&D theme, the crafting and the Foundry were a big plus for some. Now, more and…
  • Not according to my calculations, no. (Assuming you have a decent active DPS companion, that is). Stick with Empowered/Profane/Enigmatic for augments, but Indomitable runestones seem to be the way to go for combat companions.
  • Well, "no one" is not exactly accurate. There are people that like the changes.* Players with melee characters trying to do the dragonslaying quests, who had problems, because the dragons were killed by ranged attacks even before they landed. * Players who were annoyed that others could ignore mechanics and rush through…
  • Well, you got what you asked for.....happy ?
  • Well, I am not going to disagree that it is broken - but "getting owned left and right" would suggest you just need to adjust. It took me a couple of weeks to get back to the point where I felt just as strong as before, and that involved quite a bit of gear and stat-shuffling. See my "simplified survival guide here:…
  • Well, to be fair, there has been some talk about revising loot drops - I think they may be starting to realize that the reward/effort ratio is important to many players. Then again, they do not seem to realize that gear progression is important for others, as the current scaling shows.
  • That's perfectly normal. your total IL dropped, but your defensive stats did not change, so they are now a higher percentage of TIL. Note that un unscaled content there is no good reason to remove gear - some stats may go up, but your TIL drops, and as that determines your base damage you will not be better off. In scaled…
  • Well, not exactly. A R15 enchant gives a total of 3000 points,,,, a major kit gives what, 800 ?
  • Crafting (including masterwork) just needs a lot, lot more attention. My pet peeve is that the size of the Material Satchel is totally unrealistic. It is not large enough to hold even one stack of every material (partly because of regular and +1 versions of crafting materials), which forces crafters to use various…
  • Sorry, there was. Maybe read things more carefully the next time?
  • Or you can just go and get a companion which automatically gives you CA, like Black Death Scorpion. Blink Dog and (I think) Pseudodragon do that too.
  • Well, no - this is only half of it. You see, I am a big supporter of the idea of the reward matching the effort. Right now, the effort has gone up "big-time", but the rewards are just as crappy as before. Not good. Not what I asked for. I have 18 days left of my VIP. When that runs out, I will probably take a break from…
  • Oops...right, fixed now thanks.
  • Well, that can happen, yes. A"veteran" with n IL of 54K, and 50% stats would (everything else being equal) get outperformed by a 35K IL player with 60% if they are both at capped base damage. This is why some players are complaining about their "sense of progression" basically disappearing.
  • Well, the same applies to every piece of scaled content, if you are above the limit. Your base damage is unchanged, and your percentages go up. THe net effect is exactly the same in every case.
  • It pretty obviously is not. It has NOTHING to do with the CDP,
  • And verify that you have not selected to show favourites only - then most of them will disappear.
  • Uh, sorry, but that's not correct. Legendary insignia and R15 enchants give the exact same number of stats (3000) - which is why they are both IL 200.
  • Your math is all wrong. Legendary insignia do not have more stats than R15 insignia - they give the same, 3000 points (divide by 15 and that's why you get 200 IL). And no, an armor kit does not give more... 880 is a lot less than 3000.
  • I get the OP's point. I just totally, utterly, completely disagreee with it - and the design philosophy that lead to the current situation.* NWO used to have a clear sense of progression....and now it doesn't. This demotivates players who are driven by self-improvement. * When content gets harder and/or takes longer to…
  • Thank you, @cryptic39#8917 for listening to complaints, and responding. However, I am afraid you are missing one very important point. We used to have much more build flexibility, which included various "hybrid" builds. All that has been taken away, and we are now "pigeonholed" into three narrow "roles" with very different…
  • Please, stop derailing this thread....The last few posts have nothing to do with the CDP, and really do not belong here.
  • Well, Awareness is of course critical for tanks in groups, because bosses have CA against you all the time, however, I am specifically just talking about solo play here, and if you can avaid enemies getting CA against you in the first place, Awareness is of limited benefit.
  • Sorry to disappoint, but quite frankly, I do not see any such thing coming in the near future. If you go on Preview and look in the collection tab for the new gear coming with Mod 20, I think I can guarantee you will be disappointed, if this is what you are looking for.* There is a number of gear pieces with slightly…
  • I'm not asking for a "personal" reply - but a brief status update every now and then would be really nice..... Something like.... "We have gone over the suggestions and are looking at several of them" "We will be implementing a couple of the suggestions within the next 4 months, and a few more are being considered for…
