  • ^^ Yeah that's pretty much it. Keep Longstrider's / Gushing up, and just Aimed shot it to death. If it's a non-moving target, Rain of arrows too.
  • OP: you're in a similar position to what I found myself in recently. Some nice bondings, a trans weapon enchant, and some basic gear and other stuff, but lacking in companions, mounts, etc. Here's how I went about it: - for mounts, the Arkaian Courser is cheap and an easy way to obtain Protector's Camaraderie if you need…
  • I actually found this to be one of the initial issues with OP, and a harder than usual stat to raise. Having also levelled a GWF, HR, TR, and CW to 70, I've found that dps gear almost always have ArP on it. Tank gear? Not so much! So outside of a nice mount bonus, or bondings and some nice Loyal Avenger gear to easily get…
  • As a CW, don't rule out Fey either. Just 1% less dps but improved AP gain and healing.
  • Absolutely, for sure. If the cost of levelling up bondings weren't so bloody expensive, I'd love to have a set on my OP. And I'd lend my HR's bondings to my OP, but I'm afraid of getting too used to having 100+k power, and then having an HR without bondings :pensive: I must say, though, with the upcoming Loadouts, having…
  • I use an Ioun stone on my OP too, although that's mostly because my OP is an alt; my main uses bonding runestones. Valkos - the difference is that an augment grants you 100% of the companion's stats. A combat companion, on the other hand, with bonding runestones can transfer anywhere from 60% of the companion stats, all…
  • These weapons still need balancing. Lifeforged/Firesoul nerf was too strong, and as a result it's practically useless to everyone, including tanks who I think this was initially made for?; Mirage clones don't actually do any damage worth noting - are they supposed to?!; and Aboleth AoE explosion on death damage is pitiful,…
  • Which, again, makes it good for PvP. Less so for PvE as you'd already have allies most of the time. Even solo with companion you have perma-CA + 1 ally bonus. I'm still thinking Aboleth wins for PvE unless you use dailies a lot, in which case Fey might win out (-1% damage but +10% AP generation).
  • ^^ as a SW Combat HR, I don't run CtG either. Split strike is far more damage although it requires a bit more work to setup. The main bonus of SW is Throw Caution. Blade Storm is ok too but not what it once was. It's the tradeoff for Careful Attack and Slasher's.
  • The thing I'm finding with Spell Twisting is that if your group has the dps where everything just melts, and you only get 1 encounter off (usually IT or CoI), then the usefulness of the feat is lessened considerably. Moreso if you don't even have a chance to get an at-will off. In which case lightning's CD reduction may…
  • My guildless HR is at 2840 IL on live. On preview he's now at 10673 GS, making him eligible for FBI/SVA/Spellplague. Not sure I'd want to run him through there though :pensive: I wouldn't even feel super happy taking him through CN, even though the new GS for that is a mere 7600. I foresee a lot of deaths in people's…
  • Yeah, just did some testing on preview - this is correct. Not sure if you can have different weapon enchants on each loadout - I'm trying it but can't seem to get it to work. As for the Archery idea, it would be something I'd only ever use for bosses, and even then it depends on the boss. But I could see it doing ok for…
  • Correct. I believe Augments will also transfer the hp too, just not Companions.
  • Yeah, Aboleth is definitely the dps set you want for m11. Or stick with relics. Or wait for MC stuff in 11b.
  • You have my vote for Relic on par with Masterwork, if not better. Certainly not below for sure. If anything, I'd like Relic to be able to keep it's tiers permanently. Maybe set certain refinement numbers for Voninblood to get it to the next tier, and then it stays at that tier until you reach the next - much like all the…
  • ^^ yep, exactly. You get one extra load out for free (so 2 specs saved) but can buy more with zen if inclined. I didn't toy around with it too much but the extra loadout is a FULL respec, meaning you can change feat trees, even path and stat points if inclined. So you could be a SW combat for trash, and then a PF archer…
  • Well, this discussion just got a whole lot more complicated.... see Patch 11b gear on patch. Dex belt (+4 dex) and one of the new cloaks (+2 Wis/dex) might just win out. Hard to say. In other news, loadouts = craziness. We can now be Trapper or Combat for trash, and Archer for bosses if inclined. But that's probably worthy…
  • Any comments on the new item level rankings? I didn't see anything in the notes on this - was this intentional?
  • I'll have to run some more logs, but going off of memory Blade Storm only procced off the initial hit, and even then it's only rarely (25% based on tooltip). Unless I was just unlucky with procs, but in a minute or two test, I only happened to notice it proccing off my encounters (thorn strike, gushing etc). The vast…
  • Just had a look this morning in some logs, and it doesn't seem to.
  • Mod 11 weapons - going Aboleth? or Lifeforged? With the nerf to Lifeforged I'm not sure it's still worth it for a tank, although there's always the chance in the future it might get adjusted again.
  • ^^ Yep, I now spend about 30min per character in River District. Crypt run for the daily (Departed), then hand in magic at a ritual site until I finish the daily. Very quick and easy. On the down side, it's going to take me longer to get the focii than pre-patch. But on the up side, I can take my alt theough River and know…
  • As has already been stated, Dread / Lightning for AoE; Vorpal / Bilethorn for single-target. Bonus points for switching them out when needed. Not sure what the % difference between them all is, but I don't know if it's worth the current AD cost of jumping ship to pick up a lightning and/or bile. Personally, I have a T…
  • It's definitely a change to benefit the casual players. You can spend <1 hour now and knock out the daily and get a guaranteed 2 Focii. Previously, you'd probably farm 5 or so dig sites in that time, and get anywhere from 0-3. With the previous cap of 3/day, you'd be getting 21/week, but with some serious variations…
  • Bloody hell. HRs are to Neverwinter what Bards were to Everquest. Fix one thing, break another. The OH bonus was what made it great. Sigh.
  • I thought Pack rank4 was fixed with the last pass, no?
  • Good stuff on the AMW and Focus changes. No mention of the alleged 3/day Focus cap, though. Does this still exist? Has it been removed? Modified?
  • Right, which is on par with a ring from several mods ago, sadly :/ Actually, less so if you consider it'll only have a 1/3rd uptime :/ And that's assuming a 20k defense. Some tanks will stop before this and instead go with Negation / Shadowclad which cap DR much more effectively than stacking thousands of points of…
  • This is very true. No matter what spec I'm in, I almost always run Longstrider's. Less so in Trapper outside of bosses, but I still run it. Thorn Ward I tend to run often in Archery / Combat; again, less so in Trapper, but still use it on occasion. Same with Fox's. So any spec can play the B/D role, really. The thing is,…
  • *woops, wrong post - deleted original* As a side note, campaign weaponry is only purchaseable after unlocking the first task on the bottom (clear the docks?). Not sure if the guide lists that.
