I have been on the hunt for an Artifact Belt for my DC. His current GS is around 12.9k so I cant currently do the Epic version of Shores.
My Question - What other ways are there to get the belt? The key says you can get the belt from the normal version of Shores but the Queue information does not say that is possible. I have seen many DC's with 10k GS with an Artifact Belt and this confuses me. With the cost on the market surely they all aren't buying them?!?
I have heard that farming dragons in Roth and Whisper have a chance to drop but have yet to see any thing like that drop. Is the Epic version of Shores the best way to obtain a belt or is there a little know option that many people are using that I do not know of yet?
Most people just buy them. They aren't that expensive if you play regularly and don't mind farming. usually just one or two set piece drops from a t2 or a weapon drop from CN is enough to buy the belt.
You can get them from the dragons in Rothe or WC but the drop rate is very low. It's not as low with Epic Shores but it's still pretty low. The best and easiest way to get one is to just farm the diamonds and buy one. You may not like it but it's true. The time it could take you to farm the one you want could be months while farming for one shouldn't take you more than few days of farming.
I can't confirm that you can pull Belts from Non-Epic SoT or LoL, neither I nor my guildmates have pulled one there. You definitely can from the Epic versions however. I've heard that the two top tier dragons (daily kind) can drop belts, again haven't seen one.
I will tell you that people are indeed buying Belts off of the Auction House. Unless you're extremely lucky, the odds are you won't pull the best belt for your class anyway. That's what happened to me, so I sold it on the AH and then used the proceeds towards the one I wanted.
Truthfully, they don't bump your gearscore much at all until you really start leveling them.
If you're looking for a quick bump in score at a reasonable AD cost, look at Armor Kits. They give a flat boost when attached to a piece of armor. Just be warned, it is a permanent attachment. You can't take it off again, and I'm not sure but doubt you can replace it. Make sure you get the one you want on armor that you expect to use for the forseeable future. Try those!

You can't remove the Armor Kits but if you use a different Armor Kit on a piece of gear that currently has one on it, it will change to the new stat. Worth knowing if you plan on using Armor Kits.
