Hi everyone,
I know a similar threads are already around, but I just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences, and see if there are people in a similar situation like me who could share some advices.
Note that I consider myself a casual player, althoug I generally play around 2-3 hours a day. I also invested some basic amount of money in order to buy a good mount, but investing more is not an option for me.
So to the main point: after I hit level 70 with my TR, my progress kinda stopped and I don't see any viable way of progressing, i.e. getting better gear. I got the artefact main-hand and off-hand from the campaign and I bought some blue gear in auction. My gear level is something above 1700. Now, I'm doing the Sharandar campaign, although the rewards are level 60 and thus useless. The only rewards are boons... The Dread ring is still kinda hard, but I'm trying... though the rewards are also useless. Also, when I try running Shores of Tuern or Valindras tower (recommended gear level 1600, which is kinda amusing, given the actual difficulty) I get kicked out of parties, because I'm apparently too weak, so no great chance of progressing here...
The Icewind Dale and Well of dragons are out of question...
So, that's about it. Again, I know threads like this already exist, but I just felt like sharing my thoughts...
Well running T1s for your ellemental is the best way to up your gear. Avoid /lfg in PE it is a filthy place. People asking for full T1 ilvl to run T1 content seem to have forgotten what thier gear was like when they did thier first T1. Get on /legit and let them know you are making your first gear runs. eLoL and Kessel are probably the best grinds for seals. But keep doing campaigns as you will want those boons. If you are having trouble in an area others are as well. Using /lfg in campaign zones is helpful. Not just because you will clear content that is higher than you would normally but you also will meet people and build the friend networks you will want to run more challenging content when you get better gear.

The patch that didn't happen today was supposed to reinstate decent gear rewards in Sharandar and Dread Ring.
There were some issues detected on the test server (such as the Dread Ring store not opening), so apparently they put off the patch to fix the fixes, rather than put it out bugged.
So, with any luck you will get an alternative way to get some decent gear to get you into T1s -- after next week's patch.

One thing they ruined with boons is that they do NOT help your ilevel. That is ridiculous.
Given your description of your play habits and spending reluctance- you will not progress.
That's harsh reality brought about by all the changes from the last two mods.
Pathetically, the only folks who will now survive in this game and be able to have any of the nice top-level stuff will be those with 40+ leadership drones, multiple lvl 25 Alchemists, who play from 6 to... many hours a day, AND spend hundreds in cash to get AD from ZEN straight from the exchange on a frequent basis.
AD Earnings have become crippled with the slowdowns imposed on top level leadership tasks, the new 4 hour-multistep-invocation racket they implemented, and no more free market gear trade on auction due to dungeons no longer yielding any viable, unbound, sellable gear.
Refinement has become so ridiculously expensive and out of reach for anyone casual. The amount it takes to make even ONE artifact gear to at least legendary is frightening. A little over 16 stack(99)s of green lesser resonance stones for one belt, cape, weapon, whatever. And they're a MILLION AD per stack for unbound on the AH. Artifacts as bad or worse. Then look atr requirements for upgrading those artifacts- all the Greater Potency Marks you'll need.... to go Mythic on 4 artifacts takes 20 of those right off the bat, plus likely coalescent wards each- which are half a mill apiece. Start adding it up...
But wait- there's more! Upgrading any enchantment past rank 10 takes 0ver 600k in refinement just to get to 11, then FIVE more GMoP's apiece +Coal ward. A straight million per EACH enchantment to upgrade, plus the cost of the 600k in refinement points. How many enchantments can a geared toon have? Upwards of 26 with personalized jewelry and top companion gear. Add a weapon and Armor enchantment to that. And there's still Transcendent level weapon and armor enchantment levels to go after that as well as level 12 upgrade on all the regular enchants..... You're lookin at WELL over a HUNDRED MILLION in astral diamond cost to make mythic upgrades and rank 12's. Maybe over 150 mill after it's all added up.
0.o ............!
Farming anything is no longer an option either. Any farming in foundry has been squashed through mob mechanic changes, drop rate changes and such. And 1 hour cooldowns have been implemented on Dragon's Hoard Enchantments, regardless of rank. They only work for ONE HOUR, then no longer yield rocks.
As far as gear goes-? You won't get geared unless you mange to make it through some dungeons riding on the coat-tails of other 3k+ item leveled Legendary and Mythic party pals. All gear is Bound. If you manage to farm enough seals from doing partial runs to kill first bosses.... you can get some of your gear from the vendor. Going to take MANY MANY runs, as the gear costs 600+ seals per piece. Or you can grind the hell out of Icewind Dale and upgrade your Black Ice shaping to level 5 and then you can make a decent Black Ice set at level4, or upgrade blue pieces you've aquired to purple at level 5. But THEN- there's the Unified Elements requirementd for all that Black Ice Upgrading.... 75k in refined Ice and 15 Unified Elements to reach level 5, then minimum of 2 Unified Elements and nearly 10k Ice apiece to make or upgrade a gear item.

Ok... ok.
EVERY day during DD run , run a 3 man, you can solo these even at 1700 ilevel easy enough (toS is my favorite, but do whatever you want)
You get 1 free key a day, you get 3 k for running a DD on the daily, run during DD hour and you get another 3k .
You can then pick up all the blues and sell for several k apiece, so each run averages "around" 10kish.
Bam, it takes 10-15mins to do this.
Get the daily for pvp every day, 1-2 matches a day takes about a hour, it will be "awhile" before you can earn the burning set with this method, but you can get tehre. You will earn another 4k -8k a day depending on how many matches you win/lose and how many you can run (you can get a blue pvp set for about 20k total)
LEADERship.. leadership , leadership. Do it, you have 2 toons a day at lvl 20 still nets you about 8k apiece x 2 =16k a day.. thats nothing to sneeze at.
Run dread ring mini lairs EVERY day.. you get some free RP and most are stacked with profession nodes netting another 4-5 r4s . It adds up.
You dont need to spend a dime to progress, you just wont progress fast without spending some money (I spent mine in another 8 character slots honestly, just so I can play all the different classes and have more leadership toons) some people have more then my ten though, some people have the max (which is like 50 something plus).
I earn approx a million AD about every ten days with mine, and trust me, thats a drop in the bucket of what you need. But its enough to play around with and have fun in the game.

One may as well do ToD quests. It is easier and next to 0 effort. And, you can easily yield more than 5 r5s by just walking around to kill the mob with 2 swings while waiting for the dragon to appear. Basically, walk, swing, pick up, walk, swing, pick up. See a profession node, pick that up too. These days, I don't even swing. Hidden Daggers ... all 4 down. pick up. I mention walk instead of run because if you run, the mob could not spawn fast enough.
There are level 70 gears to feed to AE too and another ~10K XP.

Do you mean dropping with the hoard enchantment or without?
I believe I got artifact RP (and I have the hard enchantment) from there. Or, I confused myself.
I did not recall there were artifact RP and power/union stone drop from Dread Ring before though.

With a purple gauntlet you get a random chance at RP on coffer (2 peridots , aquamarine or sometimes lesser stones (or blue ones)
in the regular chest, you get a chance at a epic level Stability, union or power stone.
In addition each one has at least 3 profession nodes.
One thing they ruined with boons is that they do NOT help your ilevel. That is ridiculous.
ilvl is ridiculous. Took about a week to get as stupid as GS used to be. Walk aroud PE and watch folks asking for 2.7K ilvl to run eloL. eLoL. Youcan have full T1 and not quite hit 2.7 with a pure enchant. Not to mentionthat fact that nobody would have T1 if nobody ran eLoL at a much much lower ilvl. Look at how many points you get from switching to L25 personalized rings from L20 personalized. It's not 1% improvement. But it does raise the ilvl. Because people are stupid.
Given your description of your play habits and spending reluctance- you will not progress.
~snip~
Yup - I came to the same conclusion myself and am in almost the exact same position as the OP. So I'm waiting for the postponed patch before logging in again so I can at least have a shot at some of the new L70 gear it adds. Although the amount of campaign currency required is wince-worthy.
Nope. Not one bit. And I'm usually pretty optimistic about these things.
I've come to the conclusion that Neverwinter is no longer interested in gamers like me and we are simply not welcome any more. That's fine - there are other games out there that still offer the experience I used to have here. It's a shame though as NWO was my favourite.
Sigh. I guess there's always Mod 8 to look forward to...

So, let me get this straight.
During Dungeon Delve hour, I can queue solo for a 3-man ToS and run it solo? I thought qeueing auto-grouped you. 2 questions:
1: hitting K will show me the ToS Q?
2: What is ToS?
Only done a few dungeons with my son over the years.
And just how many hours a day does it take to run 8 characters and ear a million every 10 days??
It is not about how many hours a day because it does not need a lot of hours.
It is about how many times a day to manage them.
I would say about 2 to 5 times a day (about 10 casual minutes each time; shorter after you get used to it) and that depends on how optimize you want it to be.
I can buy anything I want but not everything at the same time.
Is it easy to set this up? Yes and no.
I don't know how other did that. I took about half a year to have all the logistic set up for a "comfortable" production level. No, I did not pay a cent to play this game.

Being a 100% solo player, who used to farm dungeons at lol50. It was mentioned earlier in the thread that you can solo enter the IL1600 dungeons - can you advise how? I tried to enter ToS today both in and out of DD hour and the entrance within Rothe Valley wasn't accessible.
I don't doubt your word, but I would be very keen to find out how I can enter without queuing and disappointing a party. I have an IL around 3K, but am shy about grouping as don't want to let anyone down.

I think what he means was the ToS dungeon is so easy that one can solo it. That is a 3 man team with 2 doing nothing and you can finish it instead of you can go in alone. With 3K iL, you probably can finish it without using any encounter when the other 2 guys doing jumping jack in the first camp fire.
If one can indeed go in alone, I would like to know how too.
*** The game can read your mind. If you want it, you won't get it. If you don't expect to get it, you will. ***
Just do gg pvp and run dragon hearld every hour. Sell the loot from the dragon runs. Yes, sell them, don't use the RP on your HAMSTER artifact gear. You get way too little RP to make your artifact gear worthwhile but if you sell them you can get millions of AD to buy other stuff. A nice looking account unlocked mount won't hurt, to begin with.
Dungeon is a waste of time. You are going to laugh at the 3k daily AD from running it. 3k AD is nothing and not worth your time. You are not going to finish the epic dungeon anyway.
From gg pvp, you can get the epic burning gear set with moderate amount of effort. That's 9000 times faster than getting the epic set from running dungeons, which you won't even get in a group to begin with anyway, let alone finishing them.
With the amount of AD you get from selling instead of using it on meaningless "upgrade" that does you nothing you have the capital to spend on other AD making things like professions and trading (provided you have learned the market).
The key point is don't do the HAMSTER that you need to spend an hour just to get like 3k rough AD since you get many times more than that in just a 10 minute dragon hearald run if you are smart to sell the loot and the AD you get from selling is not rough and have no stinking 24k daily limit.
Let the little kids who yell "we must have everything now now now..." to spend all their money and keep failing dungeons. Meanwhile you enjoy the millions and millions of AD you get from selling loot, particularly the RP HAMSTER. You want to make tens of millions of AD doing the easiest things or nothing at all if you are good at trading. When you get tens of millions of AD, it is actually worth more than that since by then the RP HAMSTER system will crumble, then you are good to spend your AD and get the goodies you desire.

I don't know how other did that. I took about half a year to have all the logistic set up for a "comfortable" production level. No, I did not pay a cent to play this game.
