Had a most annoying dungeon bug last night.

We were running The Frozen Heart. Run went fine until the last boss, Hrimnir.

Our awesome tank kited the adds around the room whilst the DPS did the boss and I (cleric) sort of circle strifed the party so I could heal/buff both groups.

Everything goes fine until the boss died. We get the message saying we won, the chest activates, score board comes up. Everyone cheers.

Except the adds are still running mad, we drop everything and start killing the adds. There is a mass of them, like 20+. We burn them and burn them, I can't even see the players anymore so healing is a nightmare "Dude where are you?!?" The hoard just doesn't stop.

We start noticing they are respawning in (through the gate looking things) as fast as we are killing them, like a 1:1 ratio.

After about 30 minutes of trying to kill them properly we start trying other things. We all die and respawn, no good they don't despawn and ravage you as soon as you enter. Finally we take turns kiting them way away from the chest so other players can die, respawn out of combat, then run and open the chest for the reward. But then we discover we can't leave the dungeon. Get close to the door and you get put in combat and then can't activate the exit.

So we try to leave the party, but the scoreboard comes up instead and you can't tab over to leave the party. So we can't leave the party, we can't use the door, how the hell do we get out of this purgatory? I try quitting the game and logging back in, BUT IT PUT ME BACK INTO THE DUNGEON WITH ALL THE ADDS.

Honestly I might still be stuck there. I finally just shut down my xbox and went to bed.



TL;DR: One bug combined with poor UI design = impossible to quit dungeon. Infinitely respawning trolls + inability to quit party/dungeon once scoreboard comes up = you are trapped for life! (we couldn't even kick each other)

    I had the exact same thing 3 nights ago, the game really is a complete mess at the moment.

    only work around until it is fixed is the whole party has to wipe/die, no one release until EVERYONE is dead.... mobs reset (apart from like 3-4) kill them, get chest, done :)
    Devoted cleric rule number one = We cant cure stupidity so no heals for fools ^.^

    Has happened to me before. My first epic dungeon too lol

    Am I the only one that thinks boss's in this game are add crazy? tone it down a bit.

    seriously. The bosses themselves are pansies, the threat is the adds.

    I wish they did more bosses like the werewolf queen boss, with more damage and less adds. Add some mechanics to the game and tone down the adds.

    ^ This. The sad thing is that it has been this way since the PC game launch 2 years ago and they've yet to fix it so don't count on them fixing it for xbox either, just try the method gaanjaa81 posted here and if it doesnt work once, just do it again, it should work so long as the whole party is dead. Don't worry though, they'll keep on pumping out new companions and lockboxes every so often so we're all covered there.

    The kiting thing usually works, make sure everyone gets their loot, and then you can scroll to your name on the scoreboard and hit "leave group"

    Repeat, scroll to your name on the scoreboard, and leave from there.

    Took me a few times to figure out.

    This is very true. The bosses lack any sort of danger in-of themselves. The real threat are the hordes of adds that bombard your party. Very rarely does a boss in this actually have a low-add spawn, but they replaced the adds with more sinister methods are destroying parties. The dragon for Lair of Lostmauth is one such example, not a ton of adds, but the arena fills with lava.

    Pretty much what everyone else said - just focus the boss, burn him down while your tank kites all the adds around the edge of the room until the boss dies. Have everyone in your party wipe and make sure everybody is dead before anyone releases, once you all respawn there should only be 2-3 adds left. Kill them and loot the chest and you can leave.

    It took me and Rogue buddy about an hour to burn all the adds down before we realized this. Every other player in our group just stood there facetanking in the boss room while we kited adds outside in groups of 3-4 and killed them.

    This is Perfect World's way of turning a normal dungeon into an epic one. It's sloppy development and lazy on their part, because the boss encounters don't change in any way other than having to deal with more adds and group damage. The boss has more HP but doesn't gain any additional abilities or effects to those abilities.

    They should honestly stop using the term "Epic Dungeon" and replace it with "Normal Dungeon + crazy add spawns because we're just milking you for the money you're practically throwing at us and not trying to be innovative or creative in any way".
