Do you guys even realize how much that "eternal" gear costs? How to get those fangs if you can't do Well of Dragon quests? And 80k AD is also a lot to a new player.
And an Angel of Protection? You need to invoke a year to get that or pay a huge amount of AD on the Auction House!
I think some people here totally lost their perspective.

The Eternal set is equal to the same level blue item. If you can't afford the Eternal set, put on some of those blues you've been finding while leveling, or use those quest rewards. Of if you're already 70, check the AH for level 70 blues.
Just to compare: A set of level 70 blues has about 26k HP and 6600 stat points. Comparing that to my old level 60 set, which has ZERO HP and about 4200 stat points. To put that in perspective, the 70 set has an old gear score of over 13,000. The level 60 set...gear score of 4200. I'm only using gear score because I think it's an easier metric for people understand how vastly underpowered level 60 gear now is. How do you justify losing almost 9k gearscore, and consider yourself "optimized"?
Does that make sense? Do you see how inferior your level 60 purples really are to the new level 70 blues? I don't care what old set you used, when you consider the offensive AND defensive benefits of the new gear, there's no way you can rationally justify holding onto your old gear.
The people complaining the loudest about the difficulty of the new level 70 zones are also the people who haven't properly geared themselves. Those people who switched to Mod 6 gear are doing fine in Mod 6 content. Sure it's harder, but in a good way.

Ugh. I am not using any level 60 gear after level 60. I seriously doubt many people are.
How can it be a "good way" if so many people are frustrated or just giving up on playing completely? You are talking from your high horse of purple companions, rank 8+ enchants, boons completed, gear prefarmed etc. and telling us it's easy...

Hardly. Every single piece of blue gear I received as a quest reward was sub-par to the Eternal gear. I compared every single one of them and there weren't many to be had regardless.

The stat budget on the randomly dropped level 61+ blues is exactly the same as the comparatively leveled Eternal gear. And if you don't have access to Eternal gear, those blues are still better than your level 60 purples, especially as you get closer to 70.

I'm running 3 toons through Drowned Shore ATM. No I'm not a HAMSTER - I just wanted to compare performance between the various classes I play. Levelling is slow as a result and the 3 toons are 61, 62, and 63. I'm taking my time and overkilling so I've marmelised hundreds and hundreds of mobs. I've yet to see a blue drop - just green vendor trash. The quest rewards are poor also, although I have used a Blue headpiece in place of the hood on my CW but he was only wearing Shadow Weaver.
From what you're saying there must be a massive spike in quality of drops and quest rewards in the other levelling zones. I look forward to it.

No, he's completely off-base. My TR went from 60 to 70 entirely in the new EE areas, and during that time not one single solitary piece of blue equipment dropped. Not even once. Nothing but greens, greens, and more greens. I kept my Swash to 70, then bought some AH blues that I don't really want to spend AD on but what choice do I have, then used the few dragon fangs I had left to buy the eternal chest piece because I am not giving up my soulforged(Another off-base; even if blues did drop a chest piece from a drop wouldn't have an armor enchant slot).
Now I've always been pretty poor in this game, so I have Rank 7 enchants, so I'm not getting much past what my armor and old accessories/weapons/etc give me. My stats are awful now, in some areas worse than they were before, but at least I have twice as much HP? It 'helps' in the sense that I don't die right away in WoD, but it ends up close every single time since between the pointlessness of potions, the punitive stat curves, and the increased potion cooldown, and LS not proccing enough to keep me even remotely solvent... I hit like a wet noodle and can barely handle it. (Also, Spirit Wolves need more HP, I'm sick of running back to Winterwhite after every single bone.) It's so exciting and thrilling to be barely able to do content I've been doing for months! Now I can maybe try to do dungeons where I'll get splattered instantly!

Black Ice Gear is no option for PVP any more, it does not have a lot tenacity, and tenacity is essential doing PVP, only could use it in PVE imo, stats are better, but can you pimp that gear up by investing Black Ice? If not its only a step and waste of UE+Black Ice until you have your PVE gear updated, or am i wrong?
don´t have the stats in mind
I can see and understand where prettycelt is coming from. I too am loath to part with my purple gear not because of its color but because I have yet to find replacements that I can slot my soulforge and vorpal to. And most of the stuff in AH I compared and even the game recommends most of what I'm wearing to new stuff. And some of the gear that drops was so buggy I fed them to my artifact. I found several pieces that had 0 hp. if it's 0 why bother listing it at all. Still that said I don't feel like quitting yet. I played a TR for a whole year back when trs were the weakest things around. Everything could, would and did kill me. so the new set up though hard is still easier than what I faced when I started playing for the first time. I would suggest besides the other recommendations that joining or making your own guild might help anyone to survive. Last night I helped one of my guildies complete the artifact quest you get when you reach IWD with 2 of your toons. It wasn't easy but the 2 of us together did complete it and he got his artifact. Also guild banks are good for getting potions, med kits, and gear
Happy Leveling to all and may your quest path never fail you

The lag doesn't help either, granted. :P
