Have to open game in windowed mode or it totally crashes just before character select

If I try to log onto the game without setting it up to windowed mode or safe mode on the login screen options menu the game crashes just as it tries to display the character select screen and I get this message , once the character select screen is loaded I can switch to full screen without any issues and play as normal , it is just the change from the Cryptic loading screen>character select that causes this crash ahah-

    I had this. It was something to do with Direct 3D. I logged in in safe mode, went to the options-display tab and tried some different display card drivers (the top drop-down box - probably says "auto"). I had a choice of DirectX 9, 10 and 11 with a #1 and #2 variant of each. The first one to work for me was DirectX9 #1 so it will stay on that option until we hear more. Have a play.
