Can we please finally get the option to drop this quest? I've never once used one of those potions, and I won't even bring newer alts to IWD, unless it's just to get the sigil quest from Jarlaxle. This quest has no redeeming qualities at all. It's just incredibly annoying to have the path take you to IWD after each completed quest.
I use RoI as kind of a tickbox to remind me whether I've been there on a given playing day. Helpful while gathering the boons there, later it's fairly meh.
You can sell your potions to the vendors for a return of 1.5 gold per day.
The investment quest is voluntary. They should make more "bigger return on bigger investment" quests. You can keep investing more for the bigger return and I control if I want to invest. It is all good to me. Not a problem, at least not mine.
Return on Investment has an odd design because you get rewards before completing the quest. So the design prevents you from canceling and reacquiring the quest. However, there are alternative designs that cause less annoyance.
For example, the reward quest could be split into three quests. Each of the three reward NPCs (at Baerick's Iceforge, Frozenfar Expeditions and the Hook, Line and Sinker) should offer a daily quest that starts and ends right there. Players could then ignore any or all of the three reward quests. No more auto-started quest that can't be dropped.
