I am very interested in getting involved in the foundry and creating some exciting stories, however I tried it and used some premade map, I placed bosses and mobs in key locations but I have no idea what I am doing.

Couple questions:

1. Is there a way to test the map before publishing it?

2. Is there a feature to let me know if the map will work?

3. How does one apply story line text, and add quest or companions?

Would be excellent if someone made a Guide and it was stickied.

Yes. "Play Map" for an individual map, or Play the entire quest are all available.

Define "will work." You cannot modify a map, terrain wise, etc - you can only add details to it, so all maps should "work."

Go see Foundry wiki below and there are quickstart guides that will get you started.

That is definitely the place to start. Read through that stuff and you should be able to make some fun stuff.

I suggest making a test map. One of the premade/dressed areas works well to just tinker. Then when you learn how to do what you need to do for your quest. Start a NEW map. Please don't try to publish the tinkered experimental map. It will have issues and be unclean. Unclean!
