Since we have 100% citr from stealth do you prefer to add points on Dex for citr or deflect or do you think str is more important for pvp to increase your dmg

Hard to say - with the way all of the TR slamming is going on, the 100% crit from stealth may likely be nerfed. If that happens, this thread's meaning will change a lot.

Dex all the way. Even if the crit from stealth does not get nerfed it still adds deflect. Deflect in PVP is not a bad thing to have.

Obviously it will depend on preference and build, but I ignored Dex as much as possible and went for Str & Cha (which gives just as much deflect as Dex). Will I come to regret it if they eventually remove the 100% crit? Likely.

But for the meantime I'm golden.

Cha was not a choice he gave and to pick Cha over con for PVP means it is not a true pvp build.

I've always been a fan of STR and DEX heavy builds for TRs. (I put all my stat points into both of them to get them both as high as possible)

I don't really know what are you talking about. What crit nerf? If not the fact that TR has 100% crit from stealth then this super slow gloaming cut would have like 2 times better dmg. Now it's super slow and non crit hit is just facepalm. Same goes with shocking execution and bloodbath. All of those powers have terribly weak dmg, and only from crit and all bonus they can deal decent damage. That is why this argument that 100% crit chance can get nerfed is completely irrelevant.

Depends on the type of TR you going to be. If you are a perma stealth/be in stealth most of the time, then STR.
If you are a Scoundrel, go for Dex. I am still working on maximizing my deflect chance and have noticed a big difference in survivability.

Plus, I love the feeling one gets when deflecting a high damage/long cooldown power like lashing blade.

Or I'm the most fragile of glass cannons - not all builds are based on forever increasing resiliency.

My opinion- the answer to the op is str and dex as nearly equal second place holders behind con, for pvp. Str being slightly more important than dex.

    This is the right answer

Why wouldn't CHA be a choice for PvP build? CHA gives twice the deflect % increase that DEX gives (1% per point versus 0.5% per point).

Since the TR deflect is 75%, wouldn't it be good to have very high deflect in PvP? PvP damage potential is far greater than in PvE.

You should look again. Dex gives 1% deflect. It was introduced in Mod5(although bugged as it gave it to all classes until it was fixed about four patches ago so only TRs benefit from this).

What?? If that is the case, I'm going to open a formal complaint - I bought and upgraded the CHA belt for the most Deflect Rating I could get!!

Ugh - communication from Cryptic/PWE remains their biggest downfall!!

Don't blame them for not reading any patch notes.

I generally ready patch notes, but have not done so lately, so that is my fault.

However, it seems like those of us TRs who invested in the CHA belt to get max deflect should get some kind of rebate. I would never have gone for CHA belt if DEX had the same deflect % (like it does now) because I would also get the added bonus of more crit chance! Ugh!

Unless you're PvE or scoundrel or a non-stealth build, CHA is actually better than DEX because raw damage % > crit chance %. CHA also gives combat advantage damage which is the same as what the damage bonus STR gives (for most TRs at least, scoundrel etc. are exceptions), and hence it's actually better in terms of damage.

Hmm. I'll have to give it some thought.
