Why would anyone buy companions more than a few times?

That said, there are some that I simply like (e.g. quickling, powrie) and don't mind buying simply because I enjoy having them around (I know, they come from special promotions, but buying is buying). Since at the endgame summoned companions are in no way viable, my choice for companions is mainly out of whether I enjoy doing dailies with them. A Thorn or Giantsoul has the potential to be loads of fun, for instance, but neither would last 5 seconds in the Tiamat fight (nor would any other companion).

Yeh there are some cool companions. The way the stones works makes it so I never summon anything else. It would be nice to be able to set an "avatar companion" that didn't give you active bonuses, but which you could have animate around you cuz kewl. And you would still be able to have your stone as "summoned status". Of course, you'd be able to use your "summoned" as avatar as well, or any of the active ones without interfering with the bonuses. This way you could use useless companions with +10 recovery as avatar companions without interfering with the good companion bonuses. It would be nice, but it's also kind of ridiculous I guess S:

Avatar companion for me would be the same as fashion. It's something I'd work towards getting when I'm starting to geared out. I wish there were more fashion items, skins, companions you could get by doing like 12 MC runs for currency. Or drake seals. Being able to buy fashion or cool looking gear you could transmute if you don't use fashion tab.

Wops, a bit side tracky. Sorry. Not sorry.

I don't care so much about the price. It is the value received for the price that bothers me the most.
