Using an artifact to refine

I have already had a Vanguard's Banner(artifact of power) and my glory hit 50k which is the maximum.
So I am thinking that spend 24k glory to get the Bloodcrystal Raven Skull(artifact of power).
Then during 2x RP weekend, I will refine the Bloodcrystal Raven Skull and let my Vanguard's Banner "eat" the Skull.

Is it a good way to refine the artifact??

    You'll get some RP out of it. I want to say about 6K.

    Can you get another banner?

    It's best to feed a high level artifact into a new one of the same kind. I fed a bloodskull, around lvl 60 into a fresh one and it came out a level eighty something.

    You level it to 59 and it will be worth 1.2M RP during 2x weekend in another artifact of power.

    I can get one more Vanguard but it costs 40k...bloodcrystal is cheaper

    Lv59 only costs 293,535 RP...so I think "eating the bloodcrystal" is a good idea^^

    If you don't level up the blood crystal until 2x rp weekend then you'll get 8x rp instead of x2.

    Similarly, in 2x rp, how many rp will get if I level up a artifact belt to lv 34 and then let the same type of artifact belt to "eat" it.
    Since the price of belts are low as hell now, the amount of AD earned is just ....................

    You'll loose ~104k RP.

    The artifacts give less RP than the RP invested in it. The only reason why people are doing it because in case of the normal artifacts, it has a 5x multiplier if you drop it in the same type of artifact, that's 10x during 2xRP events so it's even better. With normal artifacts level 59 gives the best RP/investment. Level 29 would give you more /RP invested, but you'll need a lot of artifacts. When calculating what's the max level it is worth leveling to, don't forget to add the price of the marks and the artifact. I've seen people using bought artifacts to level up other artifact when the marks where 100k and the RP was 0.15AD, which is a clear loss.

    With artifact gear the multiplier for dropping it into a matching artifact gear type is only 2x, so even during the double RP event it only gives 4x the base rp, which is less then the RP used to reach the given level. Normally, you'll lose RP after 3rd lvl, iirc, so during the 2xRP event you might be able to get some bonus RP out of it till level 4-5.

    There you have a table with the amount of RP you'll get for using a belt as an RP item and how much RP you need to reach each level. Multiply the RP worth column by 4 and you'll get the RP you'll receive during the 2xRP event.

    Okay, I'm new to the game and not quite sure I understand this fully. The best way to refine an artifact is to take the same type of artifact, power for power, stability for stability, and level one to level 59 and put that 59 into the lower level one? Is that quite right?

    It is the best way but works only with artifacts of power.

    Artifacts give 2x their RP value when you feed them to another artifact of the same type.

    Let's say you wait the 2xRP week end, you feed 500k RP to your blood raven. It's x2 so your blood raven will get 1M RP. Upgrade it (will cost a bit but the RPs you get in return are much more) to purple, then feed it to your banner. Now your blood raven will give 2M to you banner, multiplied x2= 4M in double RP week end.

    So from [500k RP + 24k glory+ 120k AD (to upgrade the blood raven to purple)] you get 4M RP for your banner. Not bad imho, what do you say?:cool:

    Using that method i upgraded a blood raven to rank 110 using multiple blood ravens fed to each others and now i have your same situation: saved a blood raven and will use it to upgrade a banner.

    Artifact equipment instead is better upgraded sirectly using RP items, cause when you feed them to another artifact you only get 40% of the total RP value of the artifact equipment you "sacrifice". So even in double RP week end you get 80%, which is less RP then the ones you directly put into the sacrificed artifact item.
    So just wait for the 2xRP week end and feed to your artifact equipment your RP items to get double value.

    Bit confused here, to get a blood raven to purple, it only requires 311,135 RP. How are you getting 500k? Also When feeding an artifact to matching-type artifact, it is a 5x multiplier. So for a level 60 blood raven, it normally gives 128,190 RP when given to a non-matching-type artifact, but for a match-type, it gives 640,950 RP. During 2xRP weekend: 1,281,900 RP.
