Hi,
every time I put Neverwinter on background (alt+tab or windows key) and I come back to the game the game changes display settings from fullscreen to windowed, but remains in a fullscreen mode which leads to that everything is blurry and when you click on something (inventory, skills, menu etc) it acts as position of the desirable item(option) were displayed in windowed mode altho your game is still running in (bugged) fullscreen mode. Therefor you have to click somewhat to upper left from your interactable object (such as menu when trying to change it back to fullscreen) and it's quite annoying.
My native screen resolution is 1920x1080 but I am running game in 1440x900 cos I have shortsightness and in 1920 resolution the text is so small I can't read it (no I didn't forget to put on my glasses
) even tho I have 24' monitor.

i never found a fix, no one ever helped
i gave up
but, for whatever it's worth, same situation, always set it to fullscreen (non-windowed), any time i alt tab, it throws me back into windowed fullscreen, only game that does this nonsense
like i said, i gave up, so now i just run it windowed fullscreen, cause whatevs is the majority opinion
anyway I wonder how it is even possible to have such bug
that helps for chat, but not for the rest of the game (at least I am not aware of that you can increase font size for entire game) besides even inventory icons and skill icons are so small like there was no space for them, but there is plenty. I wish they didn't make is so small. Smaller=/better
that actually worked :] thanks

I did find these console commands I think I will try when I get home because it is a PIA.
/disable_windowed_fullscreen Disables going into full-screen windowed mode when maximized
/useManualDisplayModeChange Manually change the display mode for fullscreen settings, rather than allowing Direct3D to make the mode switch.
I'm also getting a lot of slow loading textures when riding around a zone with a lot of players (like WoD.) Like riding from white to next dragon, it sometimes looks like I'm riding through air. Not sure if they are related.
The problems with the game going into windowed mode, and not behaving properly, sounds a lot like you're using the DX11 renderer. You should probably switch to the DX9ex renderer. The DX11 one has never worked properly, changing to windowed whenever you tab out out. Worth a look.
The second bug is something that has always affected the game, and just seems a lot worse in mod 5. It has been reported endlessly- and seems worse with busy instances or high instance server load it seems to affect UI textures too (inventory, map etc.) as well as world textures. It's very annoying, I know- it has driven several people on my friends list away from the game, but I don't know of a fix.
I really loathe that it reverts to windowed maximized mode when alt-tabbing. Even if I hit my windows key to go to the Windows 8 Live Tile screen, the game toggles to windowed maximized mode. I've never had any full screen program do this, save for CO, STO, and NW, when alt-tabbing. What should happen is that the game should minimize when alt-tabbing and when toggled back to, it should remain in full screen as it was when minimized.
I've tried it on DX9 as well, same issues. Game runs better on DX11, despite this issue.

Yes, the game is nicer under DX11 for me too- more shiny and seemingly less likely to get snarled up when things are busy- but I just can't stand the windowed mode thing. Suddenly losing fullscreen, and having ugly tearing sets my teeth on edge. If there was a slash command to send it to fullscreen, it could be bound to a key.. I could live with it, and have more shiny.
However, NW is badly-behaved with DirectX in general. Not since Oblivion have I know a game crash on tabbing out so often, too- it's amazing.
If you need to get to dekstop while playing it switch auto. back to windowed display and this every time you go to dekstop!°
so youve everystime have to go to menu and change this setting while you killed from enemy...
what im wondering about is that no one has reported that bug before...
Please fix this small but really annoying bug asap.
thank you
Stupid launcher saves profile but when it launches, hey presto window mode grrrr

the result s max. annoying if you want to have good FULLSCREEN FPS performance. reply in this thread!
thanks--
Increase the UIScale slider to 1.5 or so. Everything, including the icons, will get bigger.
Game remembers fullscreen settings, but sometimes it fails to run in fullscreen and runs in windowed mode. This happens depending on what other programs you have running and what you did with your PC before running neverwinter.
What game always forgets is refresh rate, which is annoyng, because I have 144Hz refresh monitor and game always starts in 60Hz and I have to go and change it every time.
WHENEVER i alt tab, the damned game goes back to windowed maximized
whyyyy lol
how do you KEEP it full screen?
