One year is actually a time long enough to cause burn-outs. Perhaps a bit of time-off can help simmer down and try things out again. Taking a break from the game could help.

(ps) I still don't understand what, or how it hit me that finished the fight instantly though. Did it look like net-latency issue to you? Anyone who knows what the source of the 9k hit is, or how I got hit with inti from that range in the last hit, please let me know!

I did a fresh import of Judeau yesterday with his couple of pieces of PBI gear crafted, but ended up pressed for time after respeccing him and starting a bit of work on getting an artifact weapon set to blue, which I lacked the marks to finish since I hadn't planned ahead that far to bring them with me and people price things stupidly on preview.
It's a bit time-consuming, but you can keep buying the artifact off-hands for silvers and using them for RP if you've got access to lots of gold. Allows you to fool around with them with a weapon enchantment slot available anyway, even if you didn't import yourself a ton of refining stones.
I popped into Dwarven Valley to see what encounters were up and the closest one to me was trolls, which I actually engaged with for a few minutes before remembering that trolls regenerate too quickly for me to put a dent in them alone. My survivability was fine; we were just totally stalemated.
So I moved on to a Hammerstone Invasion, which didn't have a lot of time left on the clock. Someone playing an MI Executioner joined me and between the two of us we cleared the first wave in under 7 minutes, but ran out of time to engage the second. I saw his health dip quite low a few times. Mine never gave me cause for concern. He said I did really well against them, that he'd tried starting it solo earlier but was too low on potions.
The encounter that spawned after that was a Beholder, so I called it a night. Really want to try the new Smoke Bomb with some alternate gear setups.
Using DF in the current build does not feel nearly as vulnerable as the prior one. For PvE at least, I think it will work fine.
daaaang... haha. Won't compete with CW, but at least Tr has a solution to ToS now.
I'd say if a TR could AoE steamroll like a CW, then that'd be broken OP. Considering our class is always considered "focused for single-target fights", if a TR could do this, It's all mighty, dang nice.
The only thing I saw during gameplay was my own character, and the rest of the screen filled with numbers.. lol

Oh yeah. I know a TR isn't a CW. I know this even from playing both in P&P. I just like that TRs in the middling-range GS (I'm sitting at 14.7k), non-permas (I'm a utilitarian wrt stealth), and MIs actually have some viable options to solo HEs when no-one's around, because we all know those IWD HEs hit like trucks.
i would really like to know how much well smoke bomb scales with power...
i have been doing greater damages with 4000 power- full defensive and red glyphs.
i would really like to know how much well smoke bomb scales with power...

I've got around 5.8k power, rayr. Empirically speaking, my SB does around 1.5~1.6k damage with crits.
Being a Scoundrel, I have the "Low Blows" feat which buff up damage by 25% when target is CCd, and another 25% when the capstone "Skull Cracker" effect is in place. When used from stealth all of the SB ticks are crit, and my SB procs Skull Cracker as well -- which means I get a 50% damage buff on my SB ticks.
So, my SB does:
ticks twice per second, for a total of 7 ticks
ticks for around 2.2~2.3k damage
procs Skull Cracker: 4s daze, every attack during duration = +0.5s upto total +2s
So if a Scoundrel TR lands a SB at the right position from stealth, the target effected will be:
dazed for LONGER than the SB duration, for a total of 6s
unable to run out of SB range and fall victim to the entire attack, because SB slows when used from stealth
deals around 15k damage (!!)
I can kiss the devs for this. It's a heavy-damaging attack which deals mutliple CCs (slow + daze) and totally neutralizes the target for a significant time, and that on an AoE scale against UNLIMITED number of targets.
Smoke Bomb is now officially one of the BEST powers for both PvP and PvE
It's not a great power for 1vs1, but can you imagine its use at places like node 2 when enemies are trying to get hold of it? (Against GFs, SB is a great power for 1vs1)
...
You know what the most terrifying thing is?
Smoke Bomb STACKS FROM MULTIPLE TRs
If 2 or 3 TRs coordinate their attack, and catch 3~4 enemies defending a node off-guard, and blast SB down at the same time.. it's gonna bring all of them near death within 4 seconds.(!!!)
(ps) Almost every positive featire the devs brought in for the TRs, the Scoundrel path makes best use of it. IMO, the most dangerous and powerful path for PvP would be the Saboteuer, but in terms of versatility in both PvP and PvE, I'm thinking Scoundrel's the way to go.
Stop making excuses. Be a man. If you know something to be broken, stop using it. Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

indeed. "one with the shadows" also triggers with SmokeBomb, refreshing your stealth meter while you deal damage on slow motion targets. It’s hilariously terrifying. so many tears will come
What I also noticed is that each tick doesn't register as an individual attack, so if it crits, all ticks crit. If not, then not. It's completely opposite to DF and PotB.
"Man... we're so weak. These changes are a failure"
This is an outrage. The developers should have never touched our stealth, and our ability to use at-wills from stealth. Stealth is our only defense and attack buff, and fighting from stealth is what means to be a rogue. I warn every TR who plays in mod5 will be royally screwed, and we will be so much weaker and worthless. Sabs, Scos, Execs, doesn't mean shi*. Nothing works. You use one two attacks and the stealth is gone. When you're out of stealth you can't do anything. Everyone else kills stuff faster than the TR, and we're stuck with sub-par damage and slow mob clearing.
(ps) I learned today that you can't aggro too many mobs, no matter how much you want. Such a shame.
(ps2) Close your eyes, click your heels 3 times and chant each time, "There's no TR like the old TRs" - then you can go play that TR. Me, I'm staying here and playing this NEW TRs.

I did get in 2x in a row, vs sabs it really has a good synergy with bilethorn, they're relying on perma stealth which gives 0 survivability when outstealthed, since they need to use GC to fill up their stealth they are vulnerable to smoke and cracker from there; they're eating DFs 24/7.

Heh, I can imagine it being quite useful for flushing out melee-based MI Sabs who will be hanging around close by to get GC in.
Gonna be hard pressed against the "ranged, slow-kill" WK Sabs, though. Molerat in preview's got this perma tactic down, and it's really difficult to fight against. It's quite limited against GF, GWFs with a huge HP pool and DCs that have constant DoT cleansing, but against the other classes... it's like "creeping death".
It was really entertaining to see HRs die from DHS and slow-repeating CoS shots... without anything to shoot at, they got nothing to life steal from.. LOL.
(ps) But it'd be just as deadly to use when a MI Sab gets his hand on it.. Smoke Bomb from stealth, still remaining in stealth through OWTS... that's at least 3 GC attacks from stealth guaranteed all the while SB is dazing/slowing/damaging you.

Hey kweassa, I have 2 questions:
1.) Based on the posts I quoted, it appears to me (I haven't tested TOO much on the preview server, so I'm not as knowing about the now possible builds), that even a WK Sab can get something like (close-to) permastealth. But I thought permastealth is now only possible as MI Sab with feated GC. Am I missing something?
2.) I read you mentioned an artifact offhand which reduces stealth loss by 10% - together with Tenacious Consealment it's 100% stealth loss reduction (though I read you mentioning some bugs, that it can still be drained somehow). I was wondering: Which offhand? I just looked via the Preview Gateway and there is only one offhand in the collection - with different perks, but I didn't read something about stealth loss reduction. So, what am I missing? Is the collection just not complete yet? Is the reduction just not mentioned?

as sabo, perma stealth is a thing regardless the path choosen.
the offhand is one and can be upgrade to enhance a class feature...you want the t.concilement one.

Interesting. I guess I should really join you guys on the preview server and test stuff out more. Thing is kweassa and I live in totally different timezones. Oh, well, maybe I encounter some other guys willing to help.
the offhand is one and can be upgrade to enhance a class feature...you want the t.concilement one.
So...the Golden Dragon Stilletto even at green has this "Artifact Class Feature" slot. In the collection for the 4 different qualities are examples of Class Features "put" into it? You can "put" Tenacious Consealment already in the green artifact and get additional 10%?

I've fought against molerat in Opvp and domi, I got P.bile though so its a bit unfair XD, but his DHS crits for 15k. When I see my health is draining by chunks I know his around the corner
I'm trying to figure out the rotation of WK, its really risky w/o ITC but the dots are too OP to pass
@crystal
ready your AD though, it cost 50k? per class feature and its RNG based *_*

Hi guys, Molerat's here The fact is, that my build is not the best vs other TRs. I need to see my oponent or just get close, when he's in stealth (which is not the best idea when I'm focused on distance attacks) so I think scoundler can kill me easily if i'm not carefull and fast enough with my attacks/rotations. I go WK saboteur, but i can't say that its the best way for everyone. I just feel this play style.
Also, we can't be sure that devs will fix the "bile - bug", so that can be a problem for me.
Its been fixed that's why its very cheap now, but still its very good vs tr.
Naw, naw, not that one.
The "bilethorn bug" Mole mentioned is that some stuff in game currently ignores the 100% stealth damage protection from [TenCon +artifact offhand]. Even if you setup for 100% TenCon, Bilethorn will just ignore it and eat up stealth like it used to.
Also, Mole's tested with me and confirmed that attacks that land on you while in stealth will drain your meter faster despite the 100% protection setup, since the "stealth meter drain according to HP loss ratio on damage" change. You can test these yourself -- time your stealth duration, and then stand next to a friend and tell him to attack you while you go into stealth. In my case my stealth lasts around 9 seconds. When Mole used PotB, the duration went down to around 6 seconds.
You can confirm that this is in fact, a bug, by seeing that the stealth meter is correctly protected while you're out of stealth. It doesn't chop of the chunks from a stealth meter that is filling up. It is correctly protected. However, when in stealth, damage makes it drain faster.
Stop making excuses. Be a man. If you know something to be broken, stop using it. Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'

I'm trying to figure out the rotation of WK, its really risky w/o ITC but the dots are too OP to pass
@crystal
ready your AD though, it cost 50k? per class feature and its RNG based *_*

Also, we can't be sure that devs will fix the "bile - bug", so that can be a problem for me.

If you know something to be broken, stop using it.
Otherwise, you've got no right to be speaking of 'balance.'
