With the recent introduction of Mod 4 the demand for Malabog's and Fallen Dragon weapons had dropped drastically along with the professions that were required to made them. As a player who had invested some time and money to get the professions and fragments, Mod 4 completely turned them to HAMSTER. As such I may retire from NW.

Perhaps Fallen Dragon and Fomorian weapons could be changed to Bind to Account? It would make them more feasible to acquire, so you'd have three options:
Castle Never Weapons: Purchasable at the auction house, no campaign nor profession requirement.
Fomorian/Fallen Dragon Weapons: Unpurchasable, needs minor campaign investment and one character with very heavy profession investment: Weaponsmithing 20 or Artificing 20. Has a chance to fail.
Artifact Weapons: Unpurchasable, needs heavy Tyranny of Dragons investment, milder RNG than Weaponsmithing/Artificing weapons. No profession investment.
Taking a break from Neverwinter indefinitely...
No, you could make the task succeed 100% with the correct assets. Assets that could be shared with friends/guildies afterwards.
As for the artifact weapons, the real downside is the considerable RP investment, which amounts at around 4-7 Million AD depending on how many times you get the wrong weapon/market prices for RP.
At the same time, you need RP for belt and 3 Legendary artifacts too, and soon you gonna need RP for an artifact Neck as well from what I hear.

No. The whole idea is to have good end game content. Most MMO's have an "end game" in mind, whether it be sieging/defending/holding castles and running the economy and taxes in cities, or what have you. This game seems to have no real "End Game". Having to grind more stupid **** to get your GS even higher than what we already have (maxing out around 21-24k gs) is not "End Game" content. That is just a form of endless leveling really. There is not a single dungeon that even requires any where close to the amount of GS that is found on most level 60 players. There is no point to the pvp in this game either. Once you unlock your pvp boons and have the achievements, then what? Nothing. Pointless pvp in an item based pvp game with ****ty match making to boot, to make the pvp matches even more boring and pointless (pairing 18k+ partial premades against a group of 10k gs scrubs). 2 maps to continuously play over and over with no real purpose. It is really a shame because this game has such a good and fluid game engine and mechanics (which is probably why they feel it would cross over well to X Box), but with no real "end game", this **** is getting boring quick. 2 pvp maps. "Open world pvp" inside this little bitty small red area, in the corner of this one instanced "open world". That way you can go into the "open world" and still have a choice whether or not you want to go in the small corner which is the "pvp area". HAMSTER. You would think that with such a great game, they would have thought of some sort of content for the end game players. Some sort of objective that people try to achieve or control in the end game... but there is nothing. No challenging PVE end game content. No PVP endgame objectives or purpose. Just some very easy dungeons, the hardest of which, require about half the GS of what the max GS players can obtain at the moment.
Are you kidding me? GG indeed. I really love the way this game feels as far as the fluid controls which gives this game so much potential for pvp, even though it is really easy to see why people call this a p2w game because it is item based pvp (which I completely hate), but I was willing to deal with it and grind out my gear to be able to get close enough gs to compete at the end game level... but if all they are going to do is release more new **** continuously, to make this a constant grind fest which never ends... I am outta here. I would rather go play a game with a ****tier game engine and not as fluid controls, but that actually has an end game in mind, and lots of content to keep me entertained once I finish the grind fest to reach the end game. The last thing I want is more grind, after I finished the grind to reach "end game". I now want content. Purpose. Give us castles, territories, ANYTHING, that the player base can then fight over control for. Give me a reward for controlling these things.. Maybe control the prices of the NPC's in that territory and get a cut of whatever transactions are made within the territory you and your guild/faction, control.. Something.. Buffs similar to the ones received in GG.. Anything.. The "open world pvp" is not real "open world pvp". Make an area that has drops of some sort, to drive people to that area, but make the whole **** area a pvp zone. Doing **** like that creates a risk vs reward. The GG system is a completely half ***'d idea. The pvp... 2 maps and one game mode for pvp.. smh
Endless grindfest for eternity with no end game content.... Thanks, but no thanks. GG
In the end, it's all about choices you make. Even if you replace your set with an artifact piece it still has to be upgraded to (at the very least) blue quality to have similar base damage. Personally, I don't consider leveling artificing/weaponsmithing a lost investment. Just as I didn't consider my CN set as lost investment when I upgraded it with fomorian/fallen dragon.
Both artificing and weaponsmithing should take you only 1 week to get to lvl 20. I've done them on my chars in about 4-5 days without rushing any tasks. While Tyranny of Dragons requires you to do a 20 hour task 5 times in order to unlock the dailies for next zone. Then you'll still need 6 sigils and secrets for each attempt of the artifact weapon, which takes another 20 hours with no options to rush it.
So for that reason, if I were to make a new char, that new char will be getting a fomorian or fallen dragon weapon set 100% of the time. I can level up my profession while leveling, and I can do that thru gateway. I'll probably hit 60 a day or two before my profession does, but once my profession is level 20, I can rush that weapon for about 100k ad and use it straight away. You should not be crafting the weapon unless you have over 100% success rate.
Now I can enjoy playing my char with a very awesome weapon set while I'm waiting to get my artifact weapon, which is going to take a long time, and 2/3 times I'll be getting the wrong one. Yeah, you do get a consolation prize and something to use, but if it's the wrong one, I'm not going to be investing too much RP into it.
Once I get the artifact weapon that I want, then guess what? I'm glad I've spent some time grinding for that offhand from MC/VT, as it's the BiS for me to use along with it, or at least good enough till I can get lvl 3 black ice crafting for some other class.
Imagine if they made the new artifact weapons being crafted by artificing/weaponsmithing. Then you're going to get someone to come on the forum and make a thread saying "The new content is exactly the same as the old, I quit".
