The Dreadtheft skill sometimes gets bugged and instead of "shooting" through an enemy in front of the character, it chooses to strike somewhere else in a strange angle. I tried to make a screenshot of it but it wasn't very clear, so I'll try to explain it, altough you might have already seen that bug.
If you... "shoot" at a group of enemies in front of you, suddenly the beam changes direction and angle and "shoots" towards the sky and not through the enemies who make a salad of you during that period.
A possible fix for that could be made by disabling the ability of the beam for angles and to make it work only when the enemy is on the same ground level as your character - not above you, not below you, simply in front of you in a straight line.
The damage appears but in fact the enemy doesn't take any damage from the beam at all. That's why I'm reporting this bug.
The numbers fly up and the numbers go down, the beam is just in the wrong place so if you are aiming with the beam yeah stuff doesn't get hurt there. Look at the mobs where the beam should be.
I didn't understand what you meant. It's a fact that despite the damage numbers, the enemies health bar doesn't diminish as it should do. By this I judge they don't take the displayed damage and therefore these are just flying numbers.

I'm not sure that this is correct. I have had the beam waving in the air like a [censored censored censored], but mobs under the reticule dropping dead obligingly. I think it's just a graphics bug BICBW.
The other thing that catches people out is that when it's not spazzing in the air, you can aim via the beam by moving, and using the initial target as a pivot point. This is a bit counter-intuitive, but once you get the hang of it, if you cast the beam on a higher HP target, and then sweep it about to kill mobs around them, it works well.

This is exactly what I meant. The enemy health bars go down, the op is aiming wrong as it's just a graphics bug.
