1. Matches are very uneven. Not uncommon for you to have 2 or 3 10k gs players on your team against a full 15k team.
2. Why are pugs still fighting premades. Ive had this happen several times today?
3. Some matches are still competitive but it seems to have gotten much worse than it was on Saturday.
If a 16k+ premade queues, there is one thing that will happen: either they face a broken party with a few pugs which makes the match uneven, or you have to subject premades to 15+ min wait times unless another 13-16k+ premade queues
For some reason, whenever I play PVP with a premade group, it seems the Queue will do its best to match us up against a fellow premade group which is pretty convenient. I'm not sure if this is intentional or merely a coincidence, but so far it's been pretty regular. If we do not meet a premade, we pretty much waited 15 minutes in Q. We wait for quite some time only to find a premade of 3 - 4 GWF's + 1 PUG waiting for us in the other side.
And it's true that matches tend to be uneven sometimes in terms of Gear Score. But I notice that despite the GS, some of these players know their stuff and they know it well. Very nice to be able to play with other players with relatively low gear score in competitive PVP matches.
Yeah that's not the case with most of us Todesfaelle. Another player and I went against each other tonight pug after pug and we were literally just swapping 9k gs players back and forth over and over. I'm only 14k by the fire (nice decline due to new Tenacity gear). However it was automagic that the lower geared team lost quickly. 5 to 6k difference is too much, even for Chuck Norris. I sign out tonight, disappointed... Later all.
Till tomorrow..
and a small thanks to the uber awesome pug party who racked up loads of kills but never managed to stay on bases. Whaaaa? you mean we lost?
I just pvp-ed for the daily quests (rhix/blade vendor) since the patch, only in solo queue and so far it has always been totally unbalanced, either way. 1000/50 or 50/1000.
Overall more or less as many losses and wins, but no interesting matches. Either getting roflstomped with all three bases perma-red, or picking daisies between three blue bases with the red army at campfire pressing "move forward" once in a while for 15 min to avoid the penalty.

So I guess im confused at this time.
Why the confusion? Let's say it again. The community isn't large enough to support an active ELO system because you don't have enough people on at any given time, thus the reason why STILL you'll at least occasionally, if not more often than not if you're ranked high, deal with annoyingly long queue times. They spread it out so it matches you next with whoever is on ready to play, essentially, just like before. This eliminates the queue time, but it also creates the illusion that they have a clue what they're doing with PvP.

I think it will improve with more matches played. In the beginning I had very strange parties both my side and opponents. Now after a few tens of matches I'm put into quite well balanced teams. Very often results are like 1000-9XX, 1000-8XX and in last 6-7 games I have not
seen a game where loosing party had below 500 points. Very, very intense matches, leading party changes a few times during the match.
Also, I'd say that a lot of realtively high GS but low skills players with low number of matches played after the PvP patch, who were in the past leavers are forced to play to the end. So if they are in your opponents team you rolfstomp them, if they are in your team you can be frustrated. But if you play well, finally you will be moved to the higher tiers, which I'd say are more balanced.

Yeah. Ran a couple more premades a while back with friends in order to test this out a little, and it seems that there will be times that we'll get grouped against full-blown PUGs, while oftentimes we do get Q-ed against Premades or Semi-Premades. I can't really say for sure if this is an intended feature of matchmaking though. It'd be great if we got a more in-depth clarification from the devs.
Hopefully by mod 3, we'd have a system that only allows Single Player Q-ing (ladder/leaderboards), premade vs premade (you can't Q unless you have 5 members), and the regular Queue we have now. A variety of matchmaking types would be fun and would also minimize instances where PUGs meet premade groups from beast PVP guilds.

Either way, it is not good
Actually, making them wait forever is good. That will force them to queue solo until Mod 3 when Group Queuing is added.
I mean, what that would mean is (to quote Spock), "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."
Let pre-mades F***G sit there and rot.
Not joking.

I have done prob 50 matches since the change, both solo que and as a premade...
Solo que, Overall my experience has been positive, I've only had a couple pugs where people just afkd, and one my team won anyway. The pugs seem to actually be trying to learn how "team" "dominance" pvp works..which is a bonus.
Premades, the other side still has leavers, or tons of AFKers. Especially now that serious pvp'ers have either solid tenacity gears/ hybred tenacity set ups, and are learning new strats. People leave or afk before even trying, which is a bummer. In this way the game hasn't changed, premades from pvp guilds will still dominate pve guilds or solo que'ers.

after the 1st couple of days, that's how mine was too. now it devolved back into a series of 1-sided matches where u know which side wins in the 1st 5 minutes. been a while since i have been in a really close match
