Other people buying keys allows there to be a free game for you to play at all.

For a "FREE to PLAY" game, These are totally wasted, since they can only be opened if we spend REAL CURRENCY to get the keys to open them! Personally, (SINCE I have NO extra income to buy keys with) I would rather see EITHER some keys also dropping or some other kind of drop that people like myself can actually enjoy! I think it sux that I cant take advantage of the really neat stuff that I see falling and I cant get!!!

you can grind for gear and items and sell them on the AH for AD, then exchange AD for zen in order to purchase keys. so yes, this game is 100% free to play. :)

This kinda coincides with Valentine's Day. ...but I can't think of a romantic
companion or mount. Succubus, maybe. They kinda used all the faerie types up.

    Anyway, I want a Hellhound.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

Max out your Leadership, do all the stuff that gives you extra ADs, and auction off
any companions, etc. you win in Events. I've bought a cat and 2 purple companions
so far. (Have to watch the auction prices over time, btw.) Save up a snotload
of AD and wait for prices to fall on what you want. Tho yeah, some things
prices will never be reachable for most of us due to popularity and rarity.

I saved up enough AD to get 860 Z over the past month just using the AD from two characters with level-18 Leadership and one character with level-15 Leadership, and bought Sun Elf Regalia for my HR with it, all just playing casually (i.e. invoking once or twice a day + queuing professions once or twice a day + running skirmishes during skirmish hour when able + selling stacks of mithral rings and exotic pelts on the AH). That's 860 Z practically without even playing the game over the course of a month, with just 3 characters and no maxed Leadership on any of them. The point is that it would be possible to save up a lot more AD and get more Zen in the same amount of time by actually playing the game instead of just sorta-playing it the way I do. You really can save up for pretty much anything in the Zen shop if you have time, patience, and willpower.

I been investing in character slots. Up to 8 now. All of that leadership stacks up. 10 chars is like about 50,000 per day without having to play the game.

Got 4 characters with 100,000 ADs each now. 6 have level 10 leadership or more and the last 2 are still catching up.

Thayan book of the dead epic artifact and Priceless Thayan antiquity that lets you buy the legendary Star metal gauntlet are two of it's drops according to the test server but that could be changed by the time it goes to live.

And HOPEFULLY this mount ( this is purely a GUESS/WISH on my part), it would certainly shift a fair few keys if it contained this version of the Apparatus -

Well, I'd like to speculate that the Star Metal Gauntlets are going to be a higher tier that the Adamantine Gauntlets, but I'll wait to actually see whats going on.
    contents to be decided

Since the star metal gauntlet is legendary while adamantine gauntlets are rare, that goes without saying.

FYI: Adamantine is epic, not rare!

On another note, where's the enchanted key sale? They usually have one before they switch out boxes. I'm looking to buy some more and waste my hard earned free zen on the next upcoming lockbox, even if it sucks.

The smartest thing about starting a sale would be Friday or Saturday. That way they will make the most money on Thursday, since people want to be part of the high good drop rate when it's just released, than after a day or two drop rate will be little worse and sales can start for keys, that way more people start opening and drop rate will go down more.

Wouldn't surprise me that this will be the case :-)

I'm not surprised at all. That sort of info is generally not posted until Wednesday or Thursday.

Funny how the same company treats there games differently. On STO we get dev blogs 4-5 days out each day with updates on what is coming in the new lockbox, here were less than 48 hrs from new box and the only thing we know r snippets from those who have played the test server.

You have to buy the keys with ZEN, you can't find them anywhere in the game.

Keys don't drop, they have to be bought (initially) with Zen. You can then sell them to others via the AH, or for gold etc.
