weapon slotted with new enchantment...large pixel overlay

So I upgraded a vorpal enchantment to a greater and when I closed the character screen I noticed the weapon now has this huge square overlay on it that sort of flickers. I find it irritating. Has this happened to anyone else? If so were you able to fix it??

if you're referring to the way it blinks, then this isn't a bug, it is the vorpal enhancement animation. there have been a number of threads opened asking for the ability to disable these graphics, but thus far an option is not available.

you should also be aware that thread bumping is not allowed. forum rule 2.04. thanks.

Sometimes new visual effects will glitch a character's appearance, the most notable being after applying weapon transmutes.

The only way I have found that fixes it is by either changing character or restarting the game client.

There should be a "Disable Visuals" on EVERYTHING: Gear, Weapons, Enchantments, (undershirt and pants) - all of it. I, for one, prefer my plain-Jane look. I don't want any modifications to my weapons or gear, especially those GAUDY glowing effects some enchantments provide and I should have that choice. So many enchantment visual modifications are horrendous.

It's why all my leveling characters run around in the alternate "fashion" mode. Because the normal 'gear' just does't look very good to begin with, but some enchantments completely ruin them.

i actually just saw this bug and will try to get a screenshot of it if it persists this relog. it isn't the animation, it is a large square with a bunch of nasty pixels in it. i got this by transmuting my orb. tbc...

Don't know if it is exactly the same as I saw on my own, but re-equipping the weapon fixed it for me. Took off, closed charsheet, opened charsheet, put it on- then it was ok. (Not to say that the visuals are ok, they most certainly are not (imo,) but they were then working as intended.) haha

(This was a different enchant. But sounds basically the same.)

in the preview, it shows a stone or a gem in the space but when it transmuted, nothing was there and instead, i have the pixel square. i tried removing my weapon enhancement but that only gave me a blank U. so unslotting/reslotting doesn't fix this. neither does removing and re-adding the orb.

this wasn't a free transmute so... it's kind of disappointing. i hope this can be fixed soon.

this is the dread servitor's orb, btw.

That's the same square overlay I have now. I had a Mancleaver previously transmuted onto a Fomorian dagger and it was fine. When I upgraded the vorpal enchant on it to a greater....that square appeared. I changed out weapons, removed the G. Vorp (fixed it) but when I reslotted it the square came back.

Shot in the dark -- but you might try "force verify" option on launcher - it looks like a corrupted, or missing texture of some sort and that might detect and re-download it.

...or it's a bug.

I ended up transmuting another item over it...this solved the issue and made it go away. Too bad I couldn't transmute the same item had another on hand but had to choose something different.

im really disappointed of this vorpal effect (greater & perfect) looking like a grafic error.
I have now transfered another weapon skin over my sword, just to reduce the visual effect.
In the preview window, everything looked nice, no visual effect visible.
Now, thats the final result with perfect vorpal:

Please let us either choose what level of visual effect we want to use (lesser/normal/greater/perfect) or just let us turn it off.
This is so annoying, it really hurts my eyes.

I personally think the Vorpal Visual looks HAMSTER but, I do agree with you on the option to be able to disable the visual on armor and weapon enchants. Especially when I want to wear bright colored fashion items and my soulforged shows through making it look awful.

So make that +1 for the option to Disable/Enable Armor and weapon enchantments.

P.S that looks like a bad graphic bug either try submitting a ticket or adjusting your graphic settings.

Its not a graphic bug, i have asked some friends to have a look on that issue and they see exactly what the picture above shows.
