Made a similar thread in the library here and it had some fun replies :D so same song, new class. What do you think the next path for the Hunter Ranger class should be and why?

Include a list of concepts for their powers, feats, and abilities as well as what kind of niche it fills. Also please don't comment that electric shot should be buffed...we all agree it's pretty much useless. If you post a really cool one I'll copy/paste it to the main post (because I can).

Mine:
Forest Stalker

Description: "We watch, we follow, we wait, and we strike. This is our forest, accept it or perish."

Forest Stalker At Wills:

Rank 2: Duration +5 seconds
Rank 3: Duration +5 seconds

Hidden Fangs (Melee, 35 Points)
Target- One enemy in melee range
Dodge behind the enemy and strike, you hit for additional damage if you dodge an attack with this power. This effect has a cooldown of 10 seconds and uses a normal striking sequence when that isn't active.

Rank 2: Damage +10%, Dodge Window +0.25 seconds
Rank 3: Damage +10%, Dodge Window +0.25 seconds

Forest Stalker Encounters:

Wind Wall (Ranged, 30 points)

Rank 2: Enemy Range -2, Duration +2 seconds, Ally Range +5
Rank 3: Enemy Range -2', Duration +2 seconds, Ally Range +5

Call of the Wild (Melee, 30 points)
Range: 15' burst
Cooldown 20 seconds
Strike while shouting a war cry. Enemies within range of the cry lose mitigation. If your initial target dies you gain additional power and critical strike for a short period of time.

Rank 2: Duration +1 second, Buff +5%
Rank 2: Duration +1 second, Buff +5%

Forest Stalker Daily Power:

Vine Mine (50 Points)
A swath of vines lash out from you in a circle, you as the focal point. All enemies struck are knocked prone, hit with bleeding, and are poisoned. Bleed and poison lasts for 10 seconds.

Rank 2: Bleed and Poison Duration +4 seconds
Rank 3: Bleed and Poison Duration +4 seconds

Forest Stalker Class Features:

Favored Enemy (30 points)
When you attack one type of foe (ie. Undead, Redcap, Ogre) you gain a stack of Favored Enemy against that foe. When attacking favored targets you deal 2% more damage, gain 2% more deflection, and have 2% more critical severity per stack. You can only have a maximum of 5 stacks at a time. Attacking another foe will refresh your stacks.

Rank 2: +1% to all benefits per stack, +1 maximum stack
Rank 3: +1% to all benefits per stack, +1 maximum stack

Prepared Poison (40 points)
All encounters and abilities have a 25% chance to apply poison to their target for 10 seconds. Abilities that already apply poison have the same chance to replace it with a deadly poison for 10 seconds.

Rank 2: Duration +2 seconds, Chance +5%
Rank 3: Duration +2 seconds, Chance +5%

Watcher's Respite (50 points)
When you are not being targeted by any enemies you gain additional recovery, regeneration, and damage.

Rank 2: Buffs +5%
Rank 3: Buffs +5%

Forest Stalker Feats:

Archery: Twisting Arrows
Your ranged attacks have a 5/10/15/20/25% chance to spin off and hit another target within 10' of your current target.

Combat: Tempered Lungs
Your Call of the Wild has an additional 2/4/6/8/10' of range and lasts an additional 1/2/3/4/5 seconds.

Nature: Gale's Blessing
Your Wind Wall also grants 2/4/6/8/10% bonus defense against melee attacks.

What this fills:
It gives rangers access to damage over time effects like poison that are more concentrated. Centered more on taking down a single target than relying on area of effect abilities. Especially obvious with the favored enemy class feature and poison abilities.

Spellstorm ranger. Maybe then rangers won't have to wait 2 hours to find a group during dd.

Ranger's paragon path doesnt have any impact on them finding a group or not. theres much more variables that makes it as such with the main added fact that its a damage dealer class. Where all damage dealer classes suffer long group finding queues.

As for paragon path. After playing a ranger quite a bit. I dont know at the moment, i'll need to think long and hard on it. I'll get back to this thread when I do.

hahahahah they will need to buff or rework the whole ranger to fix that, the class is the worst class by miles, it brings nothing to a party that other classes wont do better.

Anyway, I liked the paragon path, especialy, the favored enemy feat. I really think a ranger should get something like that, altho I think it should be an ability given for free to the class, like the Arcane stacks of the CW and some other buffs that other classes have. Saying that some of the rangers powers apply grasping roots seams very pathetic to me. Ofcorse, it would have to be a lot weaker then what u developed, but anyway, it would be a really interesting thing.

Thank you. With that being said.

I would more than likely like to have Beast Stalker as a paragon path. I can see them turning Chosen Prey as a pretty ability based on the type of enemy its used on.

Though I feel they may most likely bring in Battlefield Archer. Since alot of people were complaining about wanting a pure archer build upon initial release of the class and prior.

I would prefer massive mobs rooting feats with about 33% chance to trigger on at-wills which works in PVE and not pvp. These days T2 dungeons spawns insane number of hard-hitting mobs that u either kite or needs 2 CW to controls them. With massive-rooting, it gives HR a chance to be considered an alternative to CWs, not neccessary a replacement but alllows team leader to consider HR in the team instead of having 2 or 3 CWs.
