I have the steam exclusive starter kit, want my panther - but I ran into a problem. I can only buy ONE of the starter kits on steam. It will not allow me to buy multiple copies of it to get the panther for my other characters.
I want the Fey Panther on all my characters, I am only able to buy one of the starter kits - total - for my steam account.
Are we going to be given another way to buy the pack, or is this going to give me a headache with trying to get more than one starter kit flagged for my account?
Very curious on how this is going to be handled.

Well, it's a code you enter on the Neverwinter website. Do you have friends with Steam accounts who don't play Neverwinter or won't be interested in this pack? You could try getting someone to buy it on their account and see if you can redeem the code.
All my friends on steam play, or are not willing to trade the code.
Was hopeing for another way to get the thing, but it might just be that I need to create a **** fleet of alt steam accounts or something to get the other codes and apply them to my account. (Not impressed...)

This isn't really a Neverwinter issue but a Steam one. It won't let you buy a game for yourself if you already own it. I don't think it will let you buy a gift for someone if the system recognizes them as already owning it either.
I can't seem to find the companion anywhere. I have been playing up to level 28 before I bought the starter pack. I put in the code, no panther. How do I redeem it?

Should be in at the Rewards Claims Agent in Protector's Enclave. It is near Knox and will be marked on your map with a gift box icon.

The Steam Pack can only be claimed on one character. Is there a way to get multiple Fey Panthers, or can you buy several Steam packs somehow ?

I forget, but you might be able to see the code if you purchase it as a gift. If not, you will need to create a second steam account and view it there. Not sure if the code only works once per account though...

Exactly my thoughts. I still have a few other games left in my Steam gift inventory and there seems to be no way to see the code until you redeem it on another account (tried sending it to another email address). And of course there is the risk that they only let you use one code per account, which is why I would love to get an official answer.
The Panther is pretty awesome, gives a huge stat bonus and might be a little better than the panther from the Hero Pack. Not that this matters in the end-game, but as stat buffer he seems really nice under the new system.

Update - DO NOT BUY 2 PACK OR MORE !!!! - bug report will be filed asap.
I bought 2 keys for the Neverwinter Steam Pack, using 2 different Steam accounts and then successfully redeemed the keys on the Neverwinter site. I only received one of the packs in game. The second pack, never showed up. Here's what I did:
Bought my first pack on Steam.
Redeemed the key on the Neverwinter site.
Got the pack in game.
Bought a second key on Steam with a different account.
Redeemed the key on the Neverwinter site.
The pack does not show up at the vendor.
Please help me with this issue, after all the pack is 18.99Euros.

i'm not exactly sure why steam's pack is set up to be claimable only on one character... whether this is a bug or intended, it's unclear as on all other packs, mounts and companions are claimable on each character.
if you have purchased more than one pack trying to get around this limitation and this did not work, i would urge you to submit a ticket through the support ticketing system or by sending an email to customerservice@perfectworld.com. there is nothing that anyone can do at the forum level unfortunately.
please also remember that while you may be frustrated, it is against the forum rules to post private communications between you and PWE. vigilance and patience, be with you.
**edit: actually it is pretty clear on the steam site pertaining to the pack:
All items may only be claimed by one character per Perfect World account!

Incidentally, there is a typo on the Fey Panther's description. It says "help worth adventurers" instead of "help worthY adventurers".

are you talking about the steam description or in-game? here is what i saw when i opened steam:
A supernatural creature comes from the Feywild to help worthy adventurers stalk their prey. The Fey Panther is an aggressive companion that will rake and claw your enemies to their demise. It has base stats in Power, Critical Strike and Armor Penetration. Additionally, if it is one of your active companions, it provides Life Steal and Deflect bonuses to your character.
if that is what you're referring to, it appears to have been corrected.

I was referring to the tooltip reproduced on the wiki. I asked in-game to verify it but it couldn't be linked in any channel. Don't know if the person linking was just incompetent or if that's another bug, but couldn't mouseover the link in /tell (same as linking something in /zone) and it wasn't showing up in /trade or /lfg.

So, just to be sure, the panther is available to all characters on the account to use the code on? Steam says "All items may only be claimed by one character per Perfect World account" in which case it makes the pack pretty expensive for what it is.

yes, this does seem to be the case. i would definitely appeal to the PWE gods to please change this to make this item like other packs or if not that, allow multiple packs to be purchased and used on different characters in a single account.

GM ticket sent, another report filed in the bugs section. I will ofc not post further GM correspondence since I don't want to violate the forums TOS.
I bought a second pack since the Fey Panther gives a really nice stat bonus (+100 lifesteal, +100 deflect) and I can confirm that the pack can only be claimed by a single character - therefore only 1 panther. If you buy a second pack you will be able to redeem the key on the Neverwinter site, but the pack will not show up at the claim vendor (in none of the tabs).
An interesting part might be that the Pack itself does not show up at all - like other packs which have a counter. So there is no entry of Steam Pack - no of claims 0. When you buy it for the first time it does show up in the list with a claim value of 1.
The Ranger pack - which costs about as much, is definitely a better investment, since it's a blue pet on all chars. €18.99 for a panther and an healthstone is quite a lot.
If the DLC is only usable by one character I won't be buying ONE pack, never mind multiples. Not at that price. Paying fifteen UK pounds for ONE character to get a companion and a few consumables is rather extortionate on Steam's behalf.
I'll check that Ranger pack out instead.

Not bound to account/character, so you can sell it. I doubt they'd unlock it across all characters that way.

Well that it's not bound is kinda nice. But at the moment you can only have one of these anyway, you won't receive anything if you try to buy a second 18.99Euros pack.
at the reward claims agent. he is in a store front across the hallway from sergeant knox, right next to the guy that you get your peasant garb from after the intro tutorial.
Just want to let you know that multiple purchases of the pack is something that we discussed, but decided against. Steam does not allow multiple purchases of the same DLC on a single account (if you try to buy it a second time, it will just show you the key for the pack you already bought). Because of this, we made the pack in such a way that you can only purchase it once. If you try to buy a second key on a different Steam account (or manage to get a key in some other way), and try to apply it to your single PWE account, it won't work.

It's rather unfortunate that this wasn't made more clear in the product description when it was first posted, that only one code could be applied per account, since there were people who were trying to figure out how they could get fey panthers for more than one of their characters.
Can you buy the pack and apply the code if you have steam but don't have the game launching through steam?
Yes. Did that myself.
As a side note since the panther appears to be bind-on-equip people *might* still be able to get ones on multiple characters if they managed to have somebody else buy them, though the inconvenience and price would be excessive. Theoretically somebody who didn't want their panther could even list it on the auction.
Really this should have been set up like other promotion code companions (i.e. the Faithful Initiate from IGNPrime): A bag *without* the pet in it should only claimable by a single character while the pet should be a bind-on-pickup unique that can be claimed by any and every of your characters without one.
It should have been account wide if you decided to make it so only ONE character can claim the cat. I can understand making the other goodies only claimable once - but the pet should become an account flag if you will not allow us to get multiple copies of the DLC, much less applying through the site.
I already got the pack, and have the panther (still unbound) stored until I decide what I want to do with this. Not happy overall with the pack because of the fact I can't get multiples AND the pet is not an account flag.
My original pack was a gift so happy with getting that... not so happy with the way the pet was done.
