From the office of Principal Programmer Mr. Unicorn. Where do you stand (or sit) on unicorns in Neverwinter?
They are not for me, but that's just my choice. We have tons of other magical beasts (Howlers, Keth Hounds, etc...). Since we already have 2 other unicorns (the dusk version in the Zen shop and the white one with the pack), is this perchance a prelude to us having a shot at getting an evil Black Unicorn created by the wizards of Thay? Just curious. I mean we are dealing with Thayans a lot in module 2.
As I've just tweeted: allow me to change my Mount colors and my Half-Orc GWF dude will be riding a hot-pink Unicorn in PE all day long! Only MANLY-MEN (er, Half-Orcs) are NOT afraid to wear or ride around on PINK!
The Unicorns models themselves are all well and good. The sparkles are okay, too. The butterflies are definitely over-the-top (to femininely - therefore only my female characters will ever ride it).
As for the joke about Dye Packs for mounts: I say drop the joke and find a way for real. I'd buy that for more then a dollar, definitely.

I swear...if I wake up one day and log into a Diablo III hidden level I am uninstalling!

I've mentioned it before - I'd love to see all the mounts *also* made into companions - that way I could dismount, and have my steed fight along side me. The white unicorn could be a support/healer companion, while the dusk unicorn could be more CW-like.
As for dyeing mounts - it may be too over the top to dye their coats, but perhaps we could dye they saddle and other accessories.

Dusk unicorns (pulling from memory on one of the editions right now) had an ability to teleport all friendly allies 40meters in any direction to a safe location within the unicorn's sight. Forget the other abilities but it's the one that stuck out in my mind when you mentioned them being more of a CW. I'd say buffer/debuffer for them more than CC actually.
I'd love seeing the current mounts and future ones turned into companions that can fight along side you on top of being ridden.
I figured out why I don't like the unicorns much too, it's the mane - they're suppose to have more of a mane like a horse, the lion's mane type look doesnt fit the animal.

You are all doing it wrong. What is really needed is a pink Gelatinous Cube mount...or at least such a companion...

Unicorns are sentient creatures in D&D, and they can even talk. Maybe add some voice-acted lines for the existing unicorns to give them some character?
The models of both unicorns are pretty good, though they often leave two impressions on me when I stop and look at them.
1. The 'beard' on their lower jaw has see-through holes in the polygon mesh from certain angles. It's a lack of polish that's a bit sad to see on an otherwise excellent model.
2. Both unicorns kind of feel... a bit too beefy. Like, somewhat too wide and consistent to be the wondrously delicate fey steeds I'd expect them to feel like next to a warhorse. It's not a biggie, but next to the unicorns in Final Fantasy 14 I've glimpsed recently, it's noticeable (though the FF XIV unicorn has its own share of flaws too).

I ride it like I'd ride a walking Pegasus, wishing it would fly!
I want a white horse because Clerics should ride white horses. Sadly, the closest I can get to that is a Unicorn from the Feywild pack but a Unicorn does not suit a male human Cleric. So, I ride that horse that has some white and is as slow as an ice glacier. First one out the gate in PvP, last one to the nearest point. . .
Thumbs up to anyone that said you should be able to change the colour of your mount. I should be able to buy a 110% horse and then select a white skin.
PSA: You don't need to grind Spinward Rise for your Elemental artifact main hand if you have some AD lying around. You can craft it via the Tyranny of Dragon's campaign screen.

I am not sure how it looks (haven't gotten it myself), but there is a white horse you can get from the daily invoke coins. The ardent ones, not the celestial. I know its not a great option because its slow. It might even be the partly white one you were talking about. Sorry if it is, again not seen it myself. Only heard it was white. If they can ever be convinced to lower the ridiculous cost of mount training, it might be an option.

From the office of Principal Programmer Mr. Unicorn. Where do you stand (or sit) on unicorns in Neverwinter?
As a troll, typical I sit on them until they stop breathing. Often times I find that if I stand on them, the broken bone shards get stuck in the meat and then I end up having to pull them out bit by bit before I turn them into bubble gum.
But overall, pretty tasty. Halflings are still my favorite, usually with some dwarf-ranch sauce and celery sticks. Spicey "Red Dragon" Hot sauce is a must, too.

I've always held the belief that only females could ride Unicorns. Along with that, they rarely want to be ridden since they are in fact sentient beings.
If anything they'd allow someone to ride them for a brief period of time because there was no other alternative.
On a side note I'd love to see a Half-Troll/Ogre type race instead of all the tiny folk. I know some will argue you can make a character taller and more filled out. I hate to say it but the bigger body build just makes everyone look fat.

Heheheheh.
Ok, not really, but one can dream
Okay, somebody has to say it.
Don't sit on the horn.
Sit on its back.
I wish I found make my guardian mount look like the one Knox has in Module 2. White with white armor and blue trim.
Agreed! Would be very cool if they can get it to look right.

Don't forget the monocle , kinda mandatory with a top hat .
It wasn't a joke.
Agreed a thousand times. For example, the dye would change the "White Tiger" mount's saddle -- not the white/stripes.

Taking a break from Neverwinter indefinitely...
when you're riding the gelatinous cube, do you still have your skin on or can you ride comfortably for a good week before that starts happening?

Also, we have enough **** horses for now.
