For me the trading of charms is impossible, how can you trade like 80 of those things one by one
I have like 80 at 60 I was tired of running after the illusionist's to trade my charms
at least let every illusionist trade max. 10 charms
I can imagine a person with 200,he or she will be crazy before end trading every 200
you will get cripple( salad) fingers
I hope they change it to max. 10 if it is possible
i got 65+ but i have no complain, WHY, because it is anti bot event, get as much as 1k Charm for all i care, you have to actually play to exchange it... nice job PWI, and to haters.. hahahahahahahahaha

Why would any1 bot this event, pretty sure all the rewards are only cosmetics(and maybe bound on pickup?)... Not to mention they just had the bot event of the year 3 weeks ago, so pretty sure the botters are happy to sit this one out and Count all the dollars they made on waukeens even instead...

I don't seem to get it. We find 600 charms to get a Skeleton, but in order to
exchange the charms to whatever coins... you have to walk around the city and tag the Illusionists 600 times?
I have OCD, but still... Think I may drop out of the event. Which is sad, since I love Halloween.
Did you really think anyone could steal the power of the god of thieves?

How is this an anti-bot event? Since there are static turnin NPCs it would be rather easy to script a path and have them hit F twice at each NPC and move to the next one. Repeat 1,000 times.

It still slows them down. Now they need two scripts. One to farm and one to turn in the charms. With each switch requiring some level of manual intervention. One cant just bot farm 24/7 and profit. Time now needs to be devoted to cashing in the charms into real rewards.
As a side bonus, it has a real trick or treat feel to it. Having to go from NPC to NPC gathering treats is not all that different then going door to door. Sure, It can be tedious. But I honestly think it was a clever way to implement things, that is just lacking a bit of polish.

In Trick or Treat you start empty and go for the candy. The trick or treat part is when killing monsters. The Treats are the charms and the tricks are no charms. The Big Treats are turning charms into 5 treats. Even the Midsummer petal contest was more trick (1 petal) or treat (4 petals) [hint hint] [hint, hint]. Although the tougher kobolds usually protected the 4s. And Charms wasn't a bad treat either.
2nd option: Just turn in the charms and skip the Runaround.
3rd option: Pumpkin drop 5% 4 Charms, 10% 3 charms, 15% 2 charms and 70% 1 Charm and drop the less than 5 rule.

This is not an event a "bot" would participate in anyway... the only thing of value is the skeleton pet... and to be honest... it really isn't or will not be worth anything because the sheer easiness to get it. The turning in 1 charm at a time... per illusionist... is garbage. I wanted the skeleton for my Cleric... but to be honest... I will probably just buy her one. This isn't worth it the way it is set up... Collecting is not the problem... turning in is the issue...
Who the hell is going to chase ghosts for 5 hours in a row for a ****ty skeleton pet?
I got the skeleton pet, put it up on the AH for 600k and it sold in 1 minute. Basically just farmed it while hanging out on TS. Once you get your route down you can do it in your sleep.

Yup and as soon as you add the script it will be detected and when the numbers add up that you have 10,000 charms, say bye bye. One could hope anyways.
IMO it is a definate move in the right direction against botting. Botting is why people leave games in droves... Who wants to compete against a programmed player that has an unfair advantage? Not me.... I would not want to bother as a new player seeing that in most cases. Also in most cases a player will not pay for much when he sees the game is botted. What's the point? Since the game relies on players that extend extra wallet cash, seeing cheaters, exploiters and botters in a game would make me tuck my wallet right back into my pants until the issue is addressed.
I realize it is sometimes hard to catch cheaters / botters / exploiters, but there is also more than one way to skin a cat.
In most cases this event will seperate the hard workers from the lazy ones, the only thing that will seperate them will be AD amounts coming or going. Having this companion either way will show some true dedication and not to mention the extra bonus drops you get for having the skeleton companion summoned.
I wanna know when the Headless Horseman is gonna attack the city. Any clue?

Yeah there's no way I'm running around the city clicking on different npcs to give them 1 charm at a time. What a lame time sink.

Or those with money so... I don't see how having the companion shows "true dedication" at all.
Regardless, my point remains, that this event, at least as far as the turn ins go, which is what I was specifically commenting on, is not anti-bot in the slightest.
And making an item 'harder' to get, which leads to less of them for sale on the AH, just adds more incentive to botters since that means a larger profit margin.

not realy, npc`s standing on same spots is still handy for a bot, i wouldn`t even look strange if bots are used because it`s crazy if someone wants the companion.
500 times clicking or something on npc`s, i do think they look prety in the lighting of PE, but seeing them that much is crazy ;p
i agree make it at least 5 in one trade.

You know what's funny? Bots will still prevail nonetheless whether we participate in this event or not. I'm willing to bet that over 90% of the players (not counting botters) aren't going to waste their time for that trek to 600 tokens for a skeleton companion. So overall the bots, which all they have to do is twink a little bit in their script, will still come out on top.
We all know why most of us hate doing this event or has given up after 100 trades. It's the same for my reason as to why I'm opting out on this event. I can understand this event is just like a Halloween tradition, going door to door and asking for free candy... except it's not free, we have to work to get something first in order to get something else. Had it been something like just talking to the npcs and just getting "treats" (no trading involve) we'd all would have a different opinion on it.
You know what i also hate? The extra option/button you have to enter/press in order to get the item. If i interact with an npc to trade, the trade should automatically take place. Why would i not trade in the first place? Otherwise I wouldn't have talked to that npc. This is just extra time we have to waste into this already frustrating event.
Overall, this event is a fail. It's a small event and we should be thankful that it even exists. But the method to obtain the items is more of a punishment to us players than botters. We shouldn't be suffering because of them.
If the exchange rate would be upped from 1 to... i dunno let's say 5 it would be more acceptable. But seriously? Only 1? Bah... the event is filled with items we can't even benefit from, so why is it a pain to get them?

Maybe I'm in a small minority, but I actually like the mechanism of the event - I intend to get the skeleton - add it to my collection of companions, and I don't mind a little running around. Getting all those temporary masks is a bit annoying - not worth much at the AH, and not really something I want to keep.
Use a mount to run around to turn in the tokens. I turned in 170 in under 15 mins as I hit up 8 illusionists. And 15 mins isn't that long, gives a break from questing and killing mobs.
Yeah I have to agree , which is sad since Halloween is usually my second favorite event in every other MMO I have ever played , usually you get Trick or Treat bags dropped from mobs that you pick up , click and get the reward instantly , I got the cat mask last night but that's about it for me I don't see the point in getting any of the other perma masks since they only become available AFTER Halloween is over.. , green skelly striker companion simply isn't worth the tedium of several hours running round a laggy as hell PE , I really hope that Cryptic take the negative feedback for this event in the right way and don't screw up the Christmas event.

25/bottle
6~7 bottles/character(shirt, pants, 4x armor, weapon, offhand for some classes)
+ reserve for gear upgrades
i will go crazy and start sending white powder to cryptic before i trade these 500 + charms
