GF - Leveling Stats

Hello!

I am leveling a GF, currently at 21. I am doing PvE (Dungeons, quest lines, foundry) and PvP.

Right now, I have been stacking mostly defense and power and ignoring all other stats. I have some deflection, but that is just a by-product of what is available on the AH.

My question is this - should I be trading any of the defense / power for some of the other stats?

    first off, don't be afraid to pick up offensive stats in place of the defensive stuff. my first time thru on my guardian i picked all defense, deflect, that sort of stuff and a really defensive build. it was fine for a first character, but then i tried a DPS build (Rokuthy's conqueror spec) and its so much more fun for me. basically i pick all offensive stats wherever i can.

    grab yourself a cleric companion and go all out offense, you'll have a blast :D

    Up to level 60 you should be trying stuff out, you can get the powers that appeal to you and test if you like them. There are powers like the "Gain 3% of your Max HP when killing an enemy" which are great for leveling 50-60 but don't do too well at level 60. Don't worry too much about equipment stats. You level so fast that you will be replacing your equip every 2-3 levels.

    Once you are level 60 you can buy a respec any time, it's not too expensive. It's much about the feats. If you don't want to respec just check a guide and follow it. You can check Envys Guardian Fighter Compendium. It is quite old and focussed on PvP, but concerning powers and feats its still quite alright.
