The power up for them, as if that wasn't gonna be added from in closed beta. Planned then they make a big hullaballoo about them being stronger. I came back, messed around while waiting for this update to see if the companions were gonna get a revamp to make them stronger or not.
Today I find out: Not.
They still just sit there like targets while waiting for recast timers. Melee companions miss half the time because of the time it takes to trigger the attacks. So the glass cannon range and casters... actually more like glass pistols. So in the end the healer type is the most useful. If they stay alive and since they don't avoid red warnings, not long.

if you are so effraid you companion will die equip them with defence/hp/deflection ring etc
