Storm Pillar an Lightning Damage

Few questions for Cw out there regarding less used abilities:

Storm Pillar:
- Does this gain benefits from AoE bonuses such as Evocation and feats that add to AoE dmg?
- Does this ability proc a lightning enchant and how many chains? (Example Icy Terrain procs at 6 max from what I have heard)

Sudden Storm:
- Does this ability benefit from AoE bonuses when slotted as a mastery and gains a DoT effect?

Lightning Damage in general as a CW:
- Does Lightning Damage benefit from Arcane Mastery or Chill?

Thanks everyone!

May I recommend reading Grimah's Comprehensive Guide to Wizardry for those new and old thread, it answers nearly all your questions.

    It does not.

It actually has virtually no information regarding Lightning Damage or Storm Pillar I was looking at it earlier which prompted my questions.

From my testing I have seen that at full charge Storm Pillar is an AoE and creates a pillar that then does a DoT after. This makes me curious as to if it benefits from AoE bonuses or not. This could change from full charge and half charged as well. Also it makes no statement regarding Storm Pillar and Lightning Enchant procs.

There is no information regarding Lightning Damage from what I saw.

Sudden Storm I was unsure about as it is an AoE but gains a DoT in mastery slot

See my signature for information about At-Wills.

Some information that I haven't added yet, because I had to restart a lot of my tests for the new patch:

    1. Storm Pillar does not appear to benefit from AoE-damage-boosting feats/features (like Evocation).

    2. The main strike is, as you noted, an AOE. As of this moment on the Preview Server, the main strike is also the only component of the attack that can proc or crit. In other words, the power will be hopelessly bugged if the current Preview patch goes through to Live as-is. (Which seems likely, given the announced release date of Module 1.)

    3. As far as I know, Lightning spells do not benefit from Arcane Mastery's damage bonus. But -- and this is a big "but" -- that may have changed with the most recent Preview patch. After all, the developers did make an effort to change lightning spells so that they can refresh chill/AM stacks in the most recent patch.

    4. Related to #3, and on the flipside of the coin, Storm Pillar does so much damage natively (leaving aside the no-crit/no-proc bug on the bulk of its attack cycle) that it doesn't really need Arcane Mastery.

Thank you very much for your info! That is an impressive post on at wills there.

My plan, which started this line of questioning, is to build a DoT based CW somehow using the Thamauturge Paragon path. The rotation I developed - Conduit, entangling, stormpillar full charge (For Dot), chill strike (Elemental Empowerment), sudden storm (Mastery). Still testing it out. Considering switching in Ice Rays or Ray of Enfeeblement.
