Gift of Tymora drops should become a permanent game fixture

I almost completely leveled up a new character through the event and got tons of Gift of Tymora drops but added all together they would not buy a 110% mount or equip my character in high level gems or in the best equipment. They would however give a start at equipping my character at level 60. I'm not saying the Gift of Tymora drop rate should be what it was during the weekend event, but I do think it should be around half that, or perhaps even a quarter or a third. Its nice as a player to be able to get astral diamonds without having to waste all of one's time doing the dailies and the Gift of Tymora allows you to play the actual game and farm without forcing you to play where you would rather not.

They could probably drop about as frequently as Nightmare Lockboxes do without being game-breaking.

Not to mention it actually gave a slight reason to kill trash in dungeons :)

I agree - I had a lot of fun with hunting for them, and the benefits are worth it. Lowering the drop rate would make it possible to have them. Maybe even have recurring events where they are available for a limited time? Certain days of the week or whatever.

yeah, as for me after event finished is nothing to do, this event was the only reason to hold me longer than 30 minutes at this game(which i spent to set leadership)

Only if they make it a dungeon only drop. Allowing people to farm "grind" exploity foundry quests isn't really a good idea.

Involving foundry quests in more rewards always sounds like an awesome idea until someone makes me realize foundry quests can be abused relatively easily. D:

Maybe a skirmish drop as well, so people have a reason to do skirmishes outside of the +AD time window?

I think keeping the boxes as they were during the event would eventually be gamebreaking. For starters, low level characters getting 10,000 diamonds over and over would really flood the AD market.

I think that having them in the game really made the game more enjoyable though.

So, it should be done in one of the following 2 ways:

    1) Keep them as they were during the event, but make the event happen regularly like every friday or every weekend. Or just put it on the bonus wheel where the XP/chest bonuses for PvP, foundry, skirmish etc appear. i.e. "For the next 30 mins Gift of Tymora can drop"

    2) Reduce the drop rate and rewards, and make it a level 30+ only drop so that it doesn't end up inflating the economy.

Regardless, the Devs need to give us a reason to work through trash. At best I can get some level four enchantments, and on a rare, rare, rare occasion a blue shard or gem drops. That's just stupid. Until they give players some reason to work through mobs, people will always find a way to work through Epic DDs with efficiency. We just got through CN in 1 hour 3 mins with 2 CWs, DC, and 2 GWFs. Not too shabby.

The do need to give us a reason, but I don't really want Dragon Eggs to go where they're 10 AD in the AH. That and with people constantly getting 10k AD, Daily Quest would become useless since you can get like more than double from a gift box in a matter of seconds. Besides I really don't want to flood my inventory with anymore crowns.

I really enjoyed this event. I gotta say I enjoyed it more than Valindra's Invasion, but this would ruin the game if it continued permanently.

Or better yet make it drop for lvl 60 players only so there will be a reason to play once u reach lvl 60.

This gifts are already messed up economy with bots and countless dragon balls. Ss, if they dropchance will be near 1% from t2 instances and 5% from boss, it will be fine. But no drop in world or foundry.

If the Gift boxes were to become a regular feature I would keep everything (drop rate, prizes) the same except, that they only drop from mobs in dungeons.

. . . . . I'd love for them to at least redo the Tymora event on a regular basis or as the OP suggests, add it as a (toned-down) permanent feature. Three days, on a weekend, was just too short of a time for me and probably many others, to experience the mission on a rewarding level.

I think a cute little chance box could be cool if you remove lower or increase the rarity of the AD drop and rare profession items and changeup the costume part/gear and its not much different than what we already get from dungeon looting just in a cute gold resellable box. I think it would be cool to see minor profession boxes drop in general even if they aren't Tymora.

I think they made foundry runs much more fun. heck I could accually see them being an optional prize for rhyx dailies you can get 1000ad...or what's in this box. or even a sale object for tradebars 10tradebars...chance box...since we know lockbox people like to gamble.

Some of us have lifes and so and making it a dungeon drop only would be stupid. I at the moment spend too many hours in this game, but I haven't yet got into dungeoning since ( I'm not sure if it's any accurate time what game says ) it takes 45mins atleast.

If it would be a drop only for ppl who play dungeons, then there could be something added to people who adventure mostly solo. Though I don't know yet what there is for lvl 60 if you don't just do dungeons, I've heard that there is nothing, in that case, it doesn't matter much.

I mostly adventure solo as well, except for Dungeons and Skirmishes, and those I do rarely. At level 60 I have noticed that apart from Foundry missions, there really is no end game for soloists. So I understand your point of view, but I stand by my suggestion.

Foundry chest award would be nice. My main char is lvl57, I ponder now if I ever should level it up to 60 :P

If you feel the time playing is wasted, why are you playing at all, may I ask?

As a low chance end chest reward for Featured Foundry quests (to make sure this can't be exploited) this would be a great idea. Also make it happen a max of once per day.

I love this event. It was really amazing, great and generous. And that's why there is no need to make it permanent.
You like it and that's why you made this topic but there will be other events and promotions and if you have something every day you get bored with it.
It's good to wait for something, have fun for couple days and wait for something else.

I do like the idea of trash dropping useful items but there is no way they could make something as good as the event permanent. People would just grind foundries all day and buy BiS gear and rank 8 enchants in a week. I know I did my share of grinding box on my CW, 1-2 minutes to get 2-6 boxes =P people would just exploit unless it was a lesser reward and a much lower drop rate.

if this is something permanet beleive me there will be a lot of farmers, just from this event alone i think we will have dragon eggs till the end of the year i got 12, and well a lot more of other stuff so i said no, trash should drop good stuff only in small % and that is already in place and well due to comments i know that people do not like that.

i remember a game where cards that work basically the same like enchants here dropped at a rate of 0.01% per mob you will need to kill 10k mobs to have some chnace of getting and usually since it is also luck you reach 20k and no drop whatsoever however those games were more open world :P and with more agro like 200 npcs per map and with random spam after you kill them
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...

Anything new to open up and be surprised is fun. But I agree about at least trying to set some sort of control around it. Just look at the AH with the Gifts of Tymora. There are folks with not 5, 10, 20, 100 or even 200 up for auction, they have 300-400 of them up. Crazy...just crazy.

I do like the idea of these having a chance to be rewarded from foundaries.

featured foundaries or foundaries of certain lengths.

I think it is a great idea to make them permanent, though they should probably vary the loot a lot more, maybe add some profession stuff, other than just eggs.

lets be really generous here and say that those who got 400 gifts could get 6000 AD each for them and lets not even deduct the posting fee or the 10% selling tax... if they sold all 400 at 6000 AD each they would have 2.4 million AD from it, which means they might be able to get 1 armor or weapon enhancement slot filled with an enhancement that is a step up from lesser (a perfect will run around 16 million, and you have a slot on both armor and upon weapon to fill). Or with 2.4 million you could slot your character up with maybe 5 level 8 gems or perhaps instead 1 level 9 (you still won't come close to having 1 perfect gem). I'm sorry, but this is no way even close to be game breaking even if the event ran 24/7. I personally got around 150 gifts of Tymora by leveling a new character from level 1 all the way up to level 56 during the event. That amount of gifts of Tymora still buys relatively little compared to what others have (I can't even afford a good mount or a good companion).
