Open world would feel so much better.

Don't get me wrong I like fast traveling just as much as the next guy, but I like the idea of taking long walks through the world and even partying up with people to do it. It's probably too late for cryptic to make the world open world, and that's a pretty big downside for this MMO, another negative to add to the list of many problems. The game doesn't feel fun if I'm instantly at my destination, and it the game gets boring fast.

If cryptic even plans to convert the map to open world, even though a lot of hard and long work would have to go into it, the game would be so much better in my opinion.

    I don't see it feasible.

the most I can see is them making a zone that is gigantic in size.

They should allow (if they don't already) for Foundry quests to allow you to exit a quest in a zone different from the one where it started.

    THEN

Create a bunch of outside foundry zones
Have them start in various zones and end in others

    THEN

When you want to move zones - just jump into the foundry quest that covers the two zones you're interested in and run through the trees / woods / desert / dungeon / tunnel etc. and pop out in the zone you wanted to travel to.

Either that or allow players to choose the foundry 'travel' maps when exiting any zones.

If enough people create different ones, you could choose theirs as well to invoke a new experience.

With enough of these you could make the world as big as you wanted; the world will 'seem' bigger and the best part of it is that the playerbase do it and PWE get the benefit.

I agree....open world would help with retention. I want to travel and see the Forgotten Realms! Love the game, but it does feel super boxed in.......
