Some of you might remember me as the guy looking into AP gain and cooldowns, data was slow due to the cost of respecing but not anymore!
As a refresher we all know Wisdom increases AP gain and reduces cooldowns, INT does Damage and reduces cooldowns. Moves with longer cooldowns give more AP, and when you reduce the cooldown of your Powers with ranks you ALSO reduce the AP it gives you. So the question is this...
DOES INT REDUCE AP GAIN?
This can be worked out real simple, when your respec up today just respec your feats and powers FIRST, then write down the cooldowns and AP gain. Next appply your abilty modifiers, now check the cooldown and AP gain once more.
Thats it! That will let us know if INT reducing your cooldown is ALSO reducing you AP gain.
I'm going to have my results up in a bit, I'm going 100% into WIS and CON for testing purposes and will avoid INT on every upgrade. This will give us a point of comparison (the pure WIS build should give more AP than the INT builds, since WIS increases AP gain more than the cooldown reduction IF it exists). Just apply your stats how you would normally!

As a quick final note, I don't care what your level is, 23,54,60,15... it doesn't matter. It ALL contributes to the data! So please do give your findings to the wizard community!
Not to bump but New Finding! The feat "Fight On" which reduces cooldowns by 2/4/6/8/10% also reduces AP gain. From what I can tell INT reduces AP gain... but I need to double check. Very interesting if it happens to be correct.
Any updates on the results. To me it actually gives me more reason not to consider WIS, since every point of WIS is not really giving 1% of AP as stated in the tooltip, but less.
this type of analysis really needs to be an over-time measurement in my opinion.
if you get 10% reduced ap gain, but cast the spells 10% more often, over time the net ap should remain constant. I am sure this is what they were considering with this type of behavior so you could not use your daily an excessive amount.
now if it proves to be a net loss over time there is a legitimate gripe to be had, so it is important to test under the proper conditions.

But then you would have to specify the time frame. Are we talking a 10sec PvP fight? a 30 second trash mobs fight? or 10min boss fight? And in the boss fight, are you constantly casting Powers? or also teleporting, kiting, dying, being revived, etc...
I know what you are trying to say. But I feel that if the net benefit of WIS diminishes the shorter the fight is, then it is more of a reason not to really stack it, since 90% of combat encounters are short bursts.
