I've spent $30 on Zen to buy keys and haven't gotten anything of note other than 3 or 4 idols. Otherwise its a bag of low level enchants, or a semi-crappy profession pack. Haven't gotten any pets, companions, lvl 7 enchants, or the like. I still have 5 bags to open, but am having a hard time justifying buying more keys. It is kind of a money sink. I wish they would make it where keys were a rare drop. As people have stated previously, it seems to make it a pay to win game.
Please have the same expectation as buying a lottery ticket. The only one that I desire from a box is of course the nightmare mount. Yet, I can easily get a regular mount from the auction with AD. The lowest winning bid I saw is less than 5000.

It doesn't make it pay to win. Neither the mount or pet are better than many others. They just have a different look.
Also, the contents of drop boxes usually change every so often. This makes those previous boxes with the old content more valuable over time, due to rarity and people still wanting the special drops. Those who don't want to risk opening the boxes can sell them on the market at that time, for some in game profit they can then spend on a sure thing of their choice or trade for zen to use as they wish.
you miss the point .... the odds are just how many items you can get from the box (which is like what ?? 20 ?? ) then its just some have a lower chance rate of finding them ... they wont tell you the rate etc , because its marketed as "random"
but saying this , my friend opened 2 and the second was a nightmare , soooo yeah

following the pattern of STO. I can say there is a VERY likely chance that different version of lockboxes will be coming out which will increase the value of previous boxes.

Yep, same as in CO, so it is almost certain the trend will continue here.

I have opened around 40 boxes and have recieved a ton of good stuff. Got a Mare on box 32. About 10 Idols.... and mostly enchants and rune stones for the rest. Also a note.... i dont know if its the rune stones or enchantment coffer.... but one or both offer a chance at preservation or coallecent wards, which is possibly the most valuble thing you can get imo. At the end of all of that.... had enough bars to buy the fire archon companion. So win win win for me. Also out of 3 leadership profession packs, I got one Hero and 2 adventurers.
So all in all, even the crappiest prize has a chance to get something worthwile.

Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.
