It's a band-aid solution more than anything. I only lost 2 levels, but some people lost 6, some lost epic loot, some lost crafts. Some may even have lost great stuff from Lockboxes.
And some goodies are going to make up for this? It doesn't even come close. At least reward people who lost big-time with something similar in nature. It doesn't seem fair that everyone gets the same compensation.
At least Cryptic/PWE owned up to the exploit and posted regular status reports. That's about the only good thing I can say about the mess.

It will only be token thank you packs as it always seems to be in MMO's.
How do you put a pack together on lost time, items etc. etc.

I lost an Epic dungeon sword and 3 levels and I'm not really that devastated. I understand it was a hard decision for them to make and I agree with it. It was basically the quickest solution so people could still be playing while they continue to fix it. I'd much rather lose what I lost and get the exploits fixed, and be able to use the Exchange/Auction house again. I'll be happy with about anything they put in the "Apology Box", I'm going to guess its going to be T Bars and some diamonds.

I have no clue what exactly transpired with this "bug". I'm confused while reading about the effects it had because I don't even know what the bug was, however, I am glad that earlier this week something popped up that averted my attention from NWO for a few days. I most likely lost nothing in this (we'll see when the AD exchange comes back if my 600K AD's are still there or not) as I haven't played for several days! And here I was feeling silly for not at least logging in to invoke haha!
I don't think a thank you pack will matter to me since I was banned for no reason. I was on for all of 10 minutes yesterday, all I did was take money from mail from items sold and reposted new items on the auction house and now my account that has a founders pack + $1000 in zen (lock boxes opened) is banned. No response from any CS on media outlets, I can't use the ticket system because you have to log in for that. This is amazing.

And if the people crying out for a wipe had been successful? You'd have lost a great deal more. /shrug

XP pots are only useful to the people leveling up still, anyone who is 60 I guess could use Glory, or profession pack, or AD

I personally lost 3m AD and T2 Wizard Shadow-weaver gloves and I'm pretty unhappy about it all. I doubt any sort of package can make up for ~5m worth of astral diamonds.
XP pots are only useful to the people leveling up still, anyone who is 60 I guess could use Glory, or profession pack, or AD
But lets face it that is all they might care about.
Let me explain.
The people that JUST started a few days ago and played a bit and lost progress, they desperatly want to keep them since they might still throw money at them.
I dont know what a free cat is. I woke up at about 9 AM eastern yesterday, logged in, said hi to my guild. checked my mail, claimed about 1 million zen from enchantment sales (and I might have sold a horse). Reposted 2 of each R7 enchant I had on the AH, Logged out to play minecraft. Tried to log back in servers were down. Wake up this morning and am banned. Try to contact support and I can't because I'm banned.
I received no cat, I did not even log into the portal thing, so I'm curious why I was banned. I'd like to call someone but I can't find a number.

honestly i don't understand how you could have played the game yesterday whiteout noticing that mess.
And if you noticed, how come you did not foreseen a rollback.
I wish I had more information on the packs, but unfortunately I don't know what will be in them yet. I agree that no in-game compensation can truly resolve the pain of losing time and progress on a character, but we are doing our best to demonstrate our gratitude and acknowledgment of your support during this time. We plan to continue fixing bugs and working hard to show our community that we are interested in maintaining a fair and balanced game.

You all have been doing a fine job in keeping the users informed during this issue, and I am sure that a lot of consideration went into the final decision that was to be applied to what was essentially a no win situation. I hope that this economic event happening so early in the games history doesn't result in an overly negative affect on the game and the future of it.

Can you tell me what I can do about my banned account? I did not exploit in any way since launch and would like to know how to fix this. Talk about false positives.

Its not so much the ingame items and stuff, its confidence you have lost.
Now everyone has the thought at the back of their mind that any legitimately earned progress can be negated by a few people abusing an exploit.
You would be better off just saying that a wipe would happen at a certain date when the game actually launches properly and all characters get deleted, and all zen refunded to orignal buyer.
At least that provides certainty.
The problem with "soft launch" and no wipe, is that people expect continuity, you raised expectations and just totally destroyed them. In a game relying on micro transactions, thats potentially fatal.

It'll be a dozen healing potions, some portable altars, maybe an assortment of stat potions and if we're lucky, some residuum.
lol at people hoping for mounts or xp scrolls or bags- really? You think they'll give you something that'd take longer than five minutes to farm up in game?
And incoming forum outrage when they tell us what's in the gift bags in 5... 4...
Oh! I know- they'll give everyone a dozen nightmare lockboxes!
Think "it's the thought that counts" rather than some payday.
This is the way it goes.
Many cheat but only a few get caught.
Everyone pays the price while a few make out like bandits.
It's the same everywhere from the rice patties of China to Buffalo, NY with everything and everyone between - including this video game.
You have to ignore that stuff.
You'll get about what you would get on for a mmo anniversary or holiday gift. A few trinkets.

They might give out one key also, to try and get people hooked on buying more keys. If you have seen the "promotion packs" which are totally useless..I'm guessing we get something like that.

Actually, I could see that- gambling machines and casino tables are often rigged to let you win a little bit to start to hook you- a key or two would do just that.
Who knows, they might actually be able to turn a profit out of this.

In all honesty all packs are pretty useless given their high cash price.
You will get either a full vanity cat or cat with 10-20% of the original power as compensation. As a bonus, its included with ad poster that offers a "great deal" for the real cat, just for 2000 zen

as a min it should be free boosts, bags a mount, bank slot.
thats the least they can do for a **** up on this scale. personally I'd say they shoudl give everyone a hefty chunk of zen but thats just me.

This will just be a token gesture.

They said 24th. Be patient.
This is an open beta. Start treating it like one.
