I have a question about character slots. I bought the guardian founder pack so I have 3 character slots. I started a rogue and leveled to 30, then started a wiz and got to 30, got my rogue up to 40 and then started a cleric. So I have 3 slots taken, and now Im super addicted to my cleric. But the option to buy additional character slots isnt available. I want a fourth slot for the Drow Ranger so...
My questions:
What is the maximum amount of character currently available?
and, Is the option to buy more slots unavailable only because I dont have the balance of Zen currently to afford it?
I think the figure of 50 as a max was mentioned, but I don't know if that was confirmed information. I have eight character slots, six that came with the two founder packs and two that I bought for 500 Zen. You need to have the Zen transferred to your Neverwinter server for the option to buy more slots to be available. (And I think I bought them from within the game's built-in store, not through the character screen.)

. . . . . Indeed, 50 is the maximum number of slots one account may have. This includes the starting two slots, the slots granted by founders packs, and the slots granted by the Zen Store purchase of the 2-character slot pack (500 Zen). I am unsure if this includes the Foundry Character slot, which unlocked at level 15 for non-founders. I never got clarification on this.
. . . . . Yes, when you do not have enough to buy something, the button will be grayed out. I also only bought mine while in game, through the store. I never tried to buy any at the character select screen.
Who cares how many slots you have on one account.. Just make another account and there goes 2 more character slots.... There really isn't anything in this game that is bound to account.. only bound to character..... I have had about 4 different accounts with PW for the last 5yrs I think..... I do this for most games anyway.... If one account gets hacked switch to another one

I have several things that are account wide. Mounts for example. I still do use two accounts though.

Um dont mean to be mean but you are definitely wrong. Everything except bags bought on the zen store applies to your account. IE mounts and companions
how would I transfer mounts and companions between chars if they account bound? Can I mail them?
The mounts from the Zen store are account-wide in the sense that every character you have, or will make in the future, gets a "copy" of that mount. It's different with companions (except the ones from the founder's packs, which are also account-wide), as they are only for one character. You would need to spend some AD to unbind them so that you can send them to an alt or to another person.
I think all "account-bound" stuff is of the "all your characters get their own copy of it", but I'm not entirely sure if that is accurate.

I only have one account because I'm lazy!
Does anyone know if this also applies to the mount and quickling companion we got for transferring Zen to NW? It would be worth buying 2 more slots on my account if so, but if not, I might as well make another account.
Thanks in advance for any clarification.
i am pretty sure that you have to buy your additional character slots in-game. i do not think you can purchase it from the character select screen.
as for the multiple accounts... i have too much invested in account-wide mounts and other great little goodies that i would not have access to if i created a new account. for 500z i can have it all at my fingertips two character slots at a time.

those are account wide and available through the reclaim merchant across from general knox in protector's enclave. if you create a new account, you will not have access to those goodies.

I bought a month of IGN Prime for the account-wide green cleric companion, so there's that...

Yes, that's what I was hoping. I will buy the 500 Zen "2 extra char slots" and hopefully the items will be available to the new chars too. I will post the result for anyone with the same doubt I had.
Character slots do indeed have to be purchased in-game. On my main account, there is no option for me to buy the extra slots from the character screen - it's as if I have no Zen on the account. One more thing that needs fixing I guess.
