OK so, I'm liking the game so far but I am a little disturbed with the apparent lack of Axe weapons. My Dwarf just doesn't look right without an Axe.
This is DnD after all so what happened to the Mace/Hammers, Axe's, Staff's, Flail's and all the other good weapon types that make DnD great? Are they coming soon?
So there are axes in the game, but only for GWF's? What about staves for the mages? That tiefling in the cinematic had one I think...
This isn't a game you can really pick what weapon you use, that would be DDO. This is closer to 4e and Tera, where you use specific implements. Control Wizards use orbs, get used to them, War Wizards are the ones who use staves, but they aren't in game yet if ever. It's not perfect, but it's how this game is set up.

I agree but in 4e Fighters, for example, aren't just limited to Sword and Shield. And also they aren't just limited to 1 type of armor either.
Don't get me wrong, I love what Cryptic has done with the game so far but I do feel these small choice's for weapons and armor would make it even better and be a lot closer to the 4e rule set.

I also couldn't see any on sale from any venders either. I will have another look.
A great big halberd? yes please
Also sure would be nice if the clerics got a warhammer or a mace and shield.
