I know that causes issues. The work-around for that is supposed to be entering \ instead of ' in the url but last I checked it didn't work for me.
If that's not the case please supply some more details about the characters you can't access.

Try using %27 in the place of the apostrophe, it's how those are read in URL addresses.
So if your character's name is K'el you'd type it in as 'k%27el', but without the quotes. ;P
